this is a thread for flange and the best uses thereof.
is the pre-chorus in Shattered Dreams by Johnny Hates Jazz. Or maybe that's a phaser. What's the difference maoam?
Ooo I know, a flanger is when a dry signal is mixed with a delayed signal that is speed up and slowed down much like chorus but with a shorter delay time. A phaser shifts the phase, cancelling out at some points and reinforcing at others, and it sweeps through the frequencies it is cancelling/reinforcing.
They both result in a sweeping effect but think flanger sound more mechanical like it's cycling through discrete frequencies whereas flangers sound like they are sweeping continuously through the range
the mods have agreed that anyone who posts any example with phasers will be permanently banned, effective immediately.
pick any song you like
Try "Prayers for Rain"
Is that Flange? I can never remember.
