just like the national but a bit dancier really. a different drum fill which is nice.
better than anything from the last album
it's boring dadbod u2 shite
but nothing like U2 have ever done
In that case, I must love u2 dadbod shite cos fuck me, I love that album.
Or Ex-Menomena, I guess.
The Pfarmers album from last month is pretty good stuff too.
But then I was unsure about The National for a lot longer than before they because my favourite band.
and loved The National (except their last album), so am quite happy with this combination. This song is pretty good - have listened to it on repeat a bit now.
Great final 30 seconds.
saves me a listen, cheers
and lyrically adventurous
'my dick's in sunlight'
plus a passing reference to The National's latest album score on Pitchfork
but I'm not really sure the music fits whatshisface all that well. If it actually sounded like the lad from The National over Menomena it'd be good.
I'm looking forward to it, and not just because I find Brent Knopf strangely attractive
Lotta hate on here. Seems pretty nice. Not sure the last National record was a collection of 8's on a 7 or whatever that means. This'll be good stuff
Very average. Just yer man from The National singing over backing which is not as good as the one that The National provides. Not really different enough in style or mood to see it as an exploration of interesting new ideas.
some decent tunes elsewise. 6/10.
Next National album heading for a 6.2 on there.
(Or "GQ Americans" generally.
For the Thursday Electric Ballroom show? Face Value...
was fantastic. More chaotic than a National gig. After the gig I'm really enjoying the album too. I do think The National are on a very slight decline but am impressed Matt bothers to play such small places and get wasted and enjoy gigs as much, if not more than the audience. Kudos.
he always seems to enjoy live shows. At Latitude 2010 his performance was more what you'd expect from a hard rock show with him screaming on the floor n shit.
Not a big fan of this album though. Trouble Will Find Me is my favourite National album.
it was bad
of the Manchester gig for Gig Junkies should anyone want to take a gander.
