I want to watch some incredible live performances please
Could be just one song on a talk show like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GK4lD3Uf8_o
(Future Islands on Letterman)
or a whole set like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XX3sNjpukWo
(Paramore at Reading Festival 2014)
Any genre. Make me cry, make me dance, make me feel the glorious majesty of music in my soul.
Thanks x
i was gonna post future islands as a joke :/
Good for you!

Probably the best boiler room set I've seen/heard.
I can't find the thread where I did this and then rated everyone's submissions out of 10
but you should do that
If you like silly dancing on letterman:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x298m3n_perfume-genius-queen-live-on-david-letterman_music
Some good studio ones
ATDI on Jools Holland, especially if the clip includes Robbie Williams' expression when they finish.
Nirvana on Jonathon Woss doing Territorial Pissings.
Los Campesinos doing You Me Dancing to a group of toddlers with a little Q&A session beforehand. The kids all had tambourines, triangles and shakers.
Mates of State doing Sway in what appears to be their lounge.
I am unable to youtube in work.
yeah RW's expression
is priceless
Hot Chip, Glastonbury 2015

*In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3
I KNEW THAT!
What is wrong with my brain :(
you confuse album:3 with their 3rd album?
FKA Twigs - Hide
filmed amongst some Mayan ruins in Tulum, Mexico, I'm really amazed how on point the sound is for this, I actually prefer it to the recorded version.

Kanye's headline set at Coachella, 2011

so, so, so good
Future Islands at Glasto was great this year
The crowd were getting well involved by the end, the singer looked like he was in tears by the end.
on a scale of one to doing a funny dance
did he do a funny dance?
It's really annoying that Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense
isn't on YT in full
but this concert from Rome 1980, filmed by Rai Uno for TV, is on there
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwWW742T0Wc
and it is absolutely fucking dynamite
Better than SMS, I think
it's amazing.
because of the stage management/costumes/choreography
Stop Making Sense is kind of a wonderful/magical performance piece that builds to a great crescendo
whereas this is a raw & powerful live performance of a band in their absolute prime where they just accelerate straight into top gear and maintain the relentless energy all the way through
it's really difficult to compare them but this concert definitely has an extra level of thrill for being just a pure performance
I love them both
SMS is great but a little 'staged' for my taste
This performance is raw and sexy and fantastic. Those bits with two bass players are particularly amazing.
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion

THIS
have watched this a good three times since this thread was posted

Just an incredibly tight set of very enjoyable post-punk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDhFYD45Uts
As much as they can be slagged for their writing, Pitchfork's video content really can't be faulted can it?

I actually rate a lot of their writers pretty highly
but am in total agreement with you on the video thing; loads of excellent stuff
Ohhhhhh fuck.
I've never watched that Fucked Up footage. Going to watch the whole thing now.
I could put up loads but I just remembered this:
'Let's Build A Home' - The White Stripes. On Conan O'Brien's talkshow a few years ago.

Most of my Youtube favourites
have been lost to the Copyright police sadly but these are all about as good as live music gets:
James Brown, Prince & Michael Jackson on the same stage together, 1983:
Pt1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPwmMJMW2pM
Pt2 (much poorer quality): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHaFj7gOWh4

I was in that pit
Happy days
Teenage Fanclub
at Reading in 1992:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFz_8RltNLY
Absolutely on fire, huge moshpit jumping around in the worst mud I've ever seen at a festival. There's a young ThirstyDog in the middle of it somewhere.
Love this video too.
That mosh pit is enormous! I know times have changed and all that but really wish you still had bands and crowds of this calibre at festivals.
Yep
It was my first ever festival and still the best. Great lineup, great crowd, and weather so laughably, Biblically appalling that all you could was just get totally mashed and dive in.

Always find it strange that that Paramore Reading set gets a lot of love
I was there and I know they were pretty much non-stop fighting some severe technical issues but at least where I was standing it was definitely shit.
it was frustrating but it was more the way they handled it
as someone in the crowed, there was a noticeable drop in sound quality for the rest of the set, after the first out, but it was still great fun where we were - in front of the T, centre right. QOTSA sounded so bland by comparison.
Beastie Boys, Glasgow '99
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJYfOGb3sKw
Nuts.
oh shit this is brilliant
this is fuckin incredible
There is an amazing Drive Like Jehu gig on youtube somewhere
