let's take some time to celebrate one of the finest rap releases of the decade
some All-Time Bangers on this one
and one and two now you know what to do
still love the fact that Lil Jon produced Hustle Blood
Not sure why
Some AMAZING stuff on it though. Shine Blockas, Shutterbugg and Turns Me On are superb.
Had a listen today again. I love it though
in fact, the only thing that ties all the songs together as an album is the fact that they're all fucking great. i don't even mind the skits.
one of those albums that i properly hammered at the time, not sure i ever need to listen to it again. still love it though.
how the floow stayssoCOOOowoowowold??
Kinda bittersweet for me, as an Outkast fanboy, though. Y'know, to produce a brilliant pop single like Shutterbugg only for it to sink... Andre's features getting chopped from the album... gigs to dwindling crowds (200 people in Glasgow, iirc)...
On paper, Big Boi was a huge pop star, but without André's flamboyance he was never going to command the public's attention. The follow up seemed a misguided attempt to appeal to the indiesphere as he tried to find his footing in a more niche role.
Anyway, SLLF isn't perfect, but it's damn fun and has a load of energy and some big standouts. Alongside the amazing comeback gigs, it might just end up being the last great hurrah of my favourite group.
didn't phone it in at all
Still an absolutely electric personality. Wish I had seen the one at Glastonbury with the full band and dancers.
Still bloomin' marvellous
