I was a huge MD fan back in the day, went to a ton of their shows including their last, but still I'd rather Reuben back than them.
but reuben have got a much stronger back catalogue
my first thought was, 'I love a nice Reuben, but what goes in a Million Dead?'
much more varied back catalogue and great at everything they did
also Jamie Lenman's solo stuff is great while Frank Turner is utter toss
From the last couple of years is bloody great.
there's not many bands that really captivated me in the same way they did back in 2003 (also jfc that was over ten years ago).
Also 'Sasquatch' is one of the best songs ever written imo.
Did Reuben write anything as good as A Song to Ruin? No? that's that then.
Being reissued on wax... assuming that's what inspired this thread?
Has anyone got A Song To Ruin? Has it ever been issued?
But I'm pretty sure Xtra Mile did a limited vinyl run of it
Love Reuben, would've said they had the bigger 'bangers', but then again, I Am The Party. Freddy Krueger though. Tough choice.
reuben weren't exactly life changing either but they wrote some fun and oddball stuff and were wicked good live.
Not much in it though so I've basically been swayed by hometown bias
Great fun live, such a tight band. Still remember seeing them support Vex Red at the Astoria, just great! Really nice chaps too.
Reallly thought they might get semi big at some point as so much was taking off around them at the time in terms of rock bands playing decent size venues like Astoria and Brixton.
Reuben, as frank turner is amongst the worst people whereas the guy from Reuben is safe as
no one at the time knew what Frank Turner would become/doesn't detract how great a record A Song to Ruin is
My friend put million dead on in guildford, the smugness the man exuded was plain to see
So much Reuben. God, I miss that band.
Reuben it is then
never really got into Reuben apart from a few songs.
had a really stupid, annoying voice. and that their songs were dumb.
also thought Million Dead were really smart and VITAL.
I can admit I was wrong, though.
some of Million Dead's tunes still hold up, but I'd say I find them as embarassing now by them as I found Reuben then.
whereas Reuben sound really cool and fun, now.
I was wondering why you thought I was the epitome of a Social board cunt? been meaning to broach that whole thing, and. why not now, huh.
when he sings I like how he doesn't cover the accent or that he doesn't really sound that tuneful
but when he screams, he really can scream.
Cities on Fire is gloriously brutal really
(also - YCNI:M beat both of these bands, soz)
yeah, obviously milo are the best of that lot. although not as good as I used to think. 'Schteeve' was my top track on Last.fm for years.
