I got 4/6 and it was mostly guessing.
picked the 320kbps for the other 4 though so maybe I just can't tell the difference on my computer speakers above this level.
Coldplay and Suzanne Vega I was just guessing though tbh
thought the coldplay one was most obvious.
might try again on my fancy headphones with an external dac see if it makes a difference. generally pretty sceptical about these things.
Had to listen harder to tell the difference between 320 and wav and if I'm honest it was a bit of a guess in the end.
I believe Tom's Diner was the original 'test track' used in the development of mp3s.
Who actually reads the words in these things anyway?
sometimes things just sound different and I'm not sure what necessarily counts as 'better' - have on occasion heard something I've never heard before on a song when listening on really crap quality headphones.
I might just have zoned out by the time I reached coldplay tbh
I'm forever asking people to repeat themselves so I think my hearing is shit but that was really that hard. Got Mozart and Katy Perry wrong but I did get the 320kbps for them at least.
but did you know they were right or was it a guess?
The 128kbps was more obvious than the different between the 320kbps and the WAV.
5/6 with my fancy headphones + DAC
only missed the classical one, where I picked 320. was pretty sure on them all too.
but each one was just a guess, really. I don't think any of them sounded different to me.
Also, Katy Perry is obviously better for me the worse you can hear her so that might have tipped the first one.
and the 4 i got wrong i went for teh worst format. going to rip my ears off and burn them
(listening on £5 earphones tbf and was just listening out for artifacts and couldnt really hear much else, apart from a slight difference in how compressed the master sounded, which i was going wrong on apparently)
