Frank Zappa
I've always had a soft spot for We're Only In It For The Money full of piss-taking quick fire beat-nik ditties - years ahead of its time. The first time I heard 3 Feet High & Rising I thought it was a very similar style album albeit in a Hip Hop style. Over the years I have heard Hot Rats, Chunga's Revenge, Bongo Fury, Zoot Allures, Overnite Sensation and Joe's Garage. On top of being the psychedelic Prince musical perfectionist Zappa would speak his mind and challenge emerging musical censorship and the introduction of Parental Advisory labels. I'd say We're Only In It For The Money is his finest album that I have heard by some way.
