Where? How do you know??
and missed out.
If anyone has a spare let me know, or could do a swap for a Roundhouse.
how do you like me now?
DEFINITELY NOT AN APRIL FOOL I would've been going (possibly).
Followed by two friends on holiday in NYC who bought tickets and will be attending 5 hours after landing.
Another mate bought his ticket while on a train in France, coming back from the England game.
Shame that Reading station is closed over the Easter weekend - makes it more of a hassle to get there. Saw the acoustic show at the 100 club the other week, but looking forward to a full band, and a bit more noise.
that was pretty awesome.
but not amazing. The guitars sounded great, but it was very much a thumbs in the air, isn't it great to be back show, rather than anything particularly powerful or engaging. I'll forgive them that though and reckon it will be better once they have played more shows and are into it a bit more, rather than just being pleased to be there.
There were a couple of stinkers, a totally limp Twisterella, and, oh christ Black Nite Crash, but otherwise the music was great. MG, seems to have really learned to sing, but he sounds a bit too trained or something - almost had a boyband quality to it which wasn't welcome.
Crowd now also includes some proper lads with proper haircuts, and a few Oasis chants. Not great.
BUT, when they played the most enduring stuff, they sounded fantastic, could really play, and there were a few surprises, with stuff like OX4 and Time Of Her Time really kicking it.
Seagull too was blazing, and yep, good time, but reckon the other shows will feel a bit more meaningful, rather than just a far too peppy, isn't it great to be back with far too much smiling show.
Along with the Oasis lads, the hat is totally incongruous with that show. It needs to go before it derails the whole thing. Your crowd are all bald now, be bald too, it's fine.
have no place in shoegazing. Whilst one might sympathise with Mr Gardner that he hasn't aged particularly well in comparison to his peers, that hat needs to go.
very site, seems totally happy with the hat. In fact the review seems happy that it was the bestest gig ever ever ever.
I think it is time to blow the lid off this thing.
On Dreams Burn Down, Loz played a closed hi hat for the main/opening drum part. Just have a think about that for a bit.
What was he thinking?
I thought it was better than any time I saw them back in the day.
...and I didn't see them first time round prior to GBA, but they were definitely cool then.
This show was not cool at all. Was quite dorky really, but I reckon that was the giddyness of the occasion, and that will hopefully disappear when they have all fallen out again.
But if you think how effortlessly cool Slowdive have become, or how arrogant and difficult MBV have been this just felt a bit like some older guys revisiting their school band, to a load of their mates, with not all the songs standing up to the effects of time.
Reckon they will be on it though by Camden.
can't see anyone putting that on their wall. boyband voice/ boyband poster.
