Seems quite a neglected album.
What are peoples thoughts on this record?
In some ways their best, arguably. But is perhaps a bit clipped for it to beat Is this real? and Over the edge. :)
Is it neglected? I don't know.
the first few Wipers albums are all great, though this is definitely the best. never listened to the rest
I had a Greg Sage solo album that was pretty disappointing in comparison, though I think it was still ok
Think it is more of a solo album despite being released under the Wipers name though.
I used to have that one. Can't remember it too well now. Just lookin' down the discog... there's only a few i don't know at all: Follow Blind, The Circle and The Herd.
Got The Power Of One which is totally a Greg Sage solo affair (and not great sadly). Also, always strikes me how misrepresentative the Wipers best-of is - I do like it though (listening now)!
But yeah, that run of Is This Real?, YoA and Over the Edge (and the Alien Boy EP) is a perfect run, imo. Brilliant band!
Also, I see the Melvins are currently covering the track 'Youth of America' in their setlist atm. Mission of Burma have covered it too, so think it's certainly pretty revered by cool people :)
Nice. Good cover :)
I've never neglected this album! love it
