If so , sorry.
Will Haven are touring with Raging Speedhorn
Temples Fest looks properly good
but I posted in it the other day and it refused to bump. And now I can't find it.
The line-up is well good and it's only 20 minutes walk from where I live. Re: Raging Speedhorn. I saw a Swedish punk band called Victims a couple of weeks ago and one of their guitarists is ex-RS.
but I live in Manchester and I'd be going by myself. Not really about that
anyway new material from Liturgy, it's not particularly heavy though
Probably will go to Temples
in a meat & potatoes thrash meets Mastodon sort of way. It scratches an itch.
Anyone heard the new Torche record? It's streaming but I'm keeping my powder dry until I can get my hands on it. Is it awesome? Tell me it's awesome.
Also very excited there's gonna be a new Elder record this year. Dead Roots Stirring is brilliant - if they can top that then it's got AOTY written all over it.
Streaming only for now, they're getting labels together for a vinyl release. Great sarcastipolitical grindcore as ever:
fucking acid king have new music? ACID KING MATE
excite. svart records doing the good work putting out genuinely psychedelic (gross) heavy music... this, bog oak, domovoyd, lotus thief.
been liking that brothers of the sonic cloth record lots too (tad out of TAD) https://soundcloud.com/earsplit/brothers-of-the-sonic-cloth-1/s-wD3zU if there's no slowmo head nod 3 minutes in to that you're shit.
In my eyes they're probably one of the best post-black metal bands on the planet and their gig at The Lexington was so, so good.
...new Pyramids record. Every single one of the tracks they've released so far is amazing:
And apparently William Fowler Collins was heavily involved, which can only be a good thing.
but this one is terrifying and beautiful. All that time and all those collaborations seem to have served them well.
Massive and overwhelming - and the vocals are just unreal.
I had to play with the EQ for a bit just so I could make it sound less like it was trying to kill me.
Gonna take a while to digest I think.
Satyricon and Anaal Nathrakh, both at Sound Control in Manchester next month
particularly how during the Blessed Black Wings days they all looked cockney
Well done Napalm Death. Enjoying this late career surge.
really good. played for 2 hours, which included a Dead Kennedys cover and also 2 snippets of unreleased songs (?) but they sound tight as anything live, almost as good as on record
still not convinced by the newer material and sometimes Satyr's fist pumping 'OI OI' to the crowd verges on Trivium territory but very good overall
Before Ever After. Been a long time coming! Sounds more cohesive combination of their heavy and dub tendencies than their previous albums too.
Just got round to hearing the Sumac album from Aaron Turner too, and despite thinking of the herb and spice section the local Waitrose, it's pretty great!
just listening to it for the first time
I have been bereft of good heavy music recently
But I have just discovered The Armed. they are great. Anyone know them? This is one of their latest EPs (actually a split and from 2013 but hey) and they have another full length out this year I think?
they're shopping it around to labels
doing a stream: https://soundcloud.com/sargent-house/sets/mutoid-man-bleeder
Fucking great stuff.
Got a review copy of this a while back and I've been rinsing it ever since. Wild, giddy brilliance.
Relentless onslaught of atonal sorcery.
maybe even moreso than On the Steps of the Temple. Monolithic labyrinthine instrumental metal genius.
I like it very much.
for 20 quid!
Absolutely ace black metal records, and the new Abyssal on Profound Lore is fantastic too.
Can't remember if I've mentioned it in these parts before but I write a monthly column about heavy/noisy stuff. Like to think there are some good recs in it usually: http://www.stereoboard.com/content/view/192321/9
if I set up a collaborative spotify playlist for people to put their favourite songs in would people contribute?
I know theres one full of albums but theres a lot to filter through, here Im just thinking a couple of songs per artist
And I wish to subscribe you your spotify playlist.
i'll start sorting it after the weekend (won't have access to Spotify before then)
but I really like that recent Cancer Bats album 'Searching for Zero'.
if the single is anything to go by - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBIjymJAogs
very favourable review on Pitchfork today too (8.2) if that's of any interest - http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/20724-infinite-dissolution/
The first track... fucking hell.
OMG, it sounds amazing!! Hope they come over to the UK soon & I can hear these tracks live :)
will wait until then. IS IT GOOD?
kept it to one per artist
please add stuff !

It's fucking boss. If you like hardcore-concept albums about Icelandic folklore, packed with gang vocals, loads of riffs and horns, you'll love this.
listened making tea
fucking bossness: confirmed
