'Cos everyone's saying they're out there but I need to find them.
Working class bands used to be some of the most creative genre bending groups such as The Specials or PiL.
Now the working class seems to be wrongly associated with anti-intellectualism and laddishness etc. So we get Kasabian and The Enemy. It worries me.
Sometimes what they say is bang on the money and the music I've heard so far has been OK but they seem preoccupied with swearing in every sentence and (literally) toilet humour.
It feeds into Daily Mail readers/Middle England's prejudices that working-class people are "dirty" and "lowbrow."
real voice of the people
Seriously haevy shit
People say that's a posh area? Forgive my southerner ignorance.
