truly dreadful stuff. they're supporting korn and slipknot at the gig i'm going too next friday. starting to think it could turn out an ill-fated nostalgia trip rather than a genuinely good gig.
for better or worse, nu-metal is well and truly thriving. :(
but I wanted to give Nu Metal the benefit of the doubt in that its inevitable revival would right some of the things that went so so wrong the first time around.
but nope, it's so much worse and with the douchebag factor turned up further.

That this band had to cancel their Download set because one of them had been charged with attempted murder or something.

Absolutely incredible. Hell of a show in general, really.
Some of you may have seen them supporting the Bloodhound Gang or Lostprophets back in the day, hmm let's see:

Baggy combat trousers & skate hoodies? Check!
Carefully styled facial hair? Check!
Pointless cover of hip-hop tune? Check!
From a provincial town (York)? Check!
Lyrics about being beaten up for how you look? Check!
Appearance on Metal Hammer compilation CD? Check!
Wow, this lot knock every UK nu-metal band cliche out of the park I reckon. They did evolve into RSJ though who are pretty good
