Underrated aren't they? I've listened to 5 Kinks albums properly and 4 of them are probably better than every Beatles album I've heard (except maybe The White Album).

What is your favourite Kinks album? I think Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire) is their best.

Also, what do you think of the Preservation albums (Acts 1 & 2)? I can't seem to find much critical overview on them. Pitchfork gave them both high 9s, but according to Wikipedia they're critically reviled, although this isn't backed by enough sources, and the Pitchfork reviews are a little difficult to take seriously.

I think I listened to one of them ages ago and remember thinking it wasn't terrible, quite similar to The Wall actually.
