Was thinking when are these guys gonna bring out a new album and tour already!?
Prayers answered. Very, very excited for this.
not really sure why they popped into my head as i didn't hear any of their songs.
Anyway this is great news! :)
I really like Chromatics recorded output - the production, the feel, the image & styling - all absolutely on the money
but they are a terrible, terrible live band and somewhere deep down old in rockist me I can't help thinking that the fact they can't play or sing is something to hold against them
They can just be hit and miss. I've seen them twice and one of the shows was one of the best things I've ever seen, and the other time was a bit 'errr...'
and I was seriously feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed for them they were that bad - easily the most tuneless & incompetent performance I've seen from anyone above the level of rank amateur/first demo
love the records & videos though
...at Village Underground and was very impressed by how good they were live. I'd been dragged there by a mate knowing very little about them so maybe my expectations were low, but definitely enjoyed them enough to see them again.
maybe it was a double whammy of having had high expectations (they are so slick on record and so not slick at that gig) and them having a really, really crap night
but they actually got booed & heckled so it wasn't just me
just thinking about it though - this was in 2010... maybe they deserve another chance, I assume they've improved
First time at Madame JoJo's - excellent gig, worked really well in such an intimate setting.
Second time at Koko - good but not great, Glass Candy were on second and were better.
Either way, certainly not terrible.
One of the sets of the festival.
Can't wait to hear what Johnny's been working on. Maybe we'll even get that new Glass Candy album they've been promising too :)
seen them twice in London and they were stonking each time, so pumped for the new album
Seriously promising, and slightly different from what we're used to as well. 'Just Like You' is ok, but nowhere near as good as this one
Some thoughts on the track https://www.facebook.com/groups/disaday/permalink/1610933632459498/
which is no bad thing... Like, even something as minor as the bass sound just reminds me of don't save us from the flames.
But anyway, woop!
in which I don't listen to any tracks before an album comes out. Same thing for film / tv show / game trailers and such.
This album and the new series of GoT are the toughest things I've had to deal with by far.
God knows when we'll get the album. Maybe they meant it would be out for Valentine's Day 2016.
But I just cannot get my head around the lack of release date! It's just so bizarre doing all this promo for an LP with no release date
“When I make a pop album I make between five and 15 versions of each song and then decide which edit of the song to use,” he says. “I don’t change the sequence, but I try different versions and think about how it informs the entire record. As a producer I need rules and for me, the rule is the flow of the album.
“The album is 80 minutes long so I might listen to it 20 times in a certain way. I really get into the minutiae of it. I still need to make final decisions on two of the songs and though it is a little OCD to do it this way, I think that’s what makes my records stand up. I know for a fact that I did the best I could and the best with what I had.”
He now seems to be aiming for a date somewhere between the 15th and the 31st of May (Johnny's birthday), though he has a 'couple of decisions to make'.
After reading the hand written interview with Ida No, I think we won't see 'Body Work' until at the very least, the end of the year. That's just a feeling I get, so I hope I'm wrong.
As for the Farah album...
It's like a Michael Jackson album in reverse.
