Unless there's more to this, Albini was basically saying that streaming was killing all the middle men, while De Longe is basically saying music will go down with those middlemen too, even if it means easier access to music in the meantime; it's the "I need to eat too!" idea that basically supports the people who are really fucking them over.
once again someone is forgetting that illegal downloading exists and did before streaming.
who isn't deluded enough to think it's still possible to change everything back to how it used to be
when kids can make music themselves, get people streaming it, hence get popular, and hence start playing live and make money that way?
Unfortunately, as much as I love Blink 182, I can't deny that Tom Delonge is a giant douche. I have so many friends that are in bands are getting very well known in the area thanks to social media and free, streamed music. What Tom means really is that streaming is ruining the fancy lobster dinner that he was supposed to be eating. In fact if it keeps up like this, he may just have to start shopping in Iceland.
