I'm really pissed off that it's closing, really am. It's all dingy and dirty and the way it's going London will be full of luxury flats and cocktail bars and i'm really pissed off.
apart from a bunch of regulars. The door charge always puts me off, also it's massively clicky. That said, it's part of history. Denmark street looks bad enough as it is.
had some great times there, think it's an amazing venue to see solo acoustic shows, sat on the balcony, easily able to kick the singer in the face if the urge takes you. also fun but a bit silly for full band shows. like it a lot
even buildings on the south side. The studios and alley at the back are being built over and the shops are being gutted leaving only the facades. Developer says they'll be retained for musical industry use, but reading between the lines doesn't envisage they'll be music shops. The rent will be too expensive.
On the plus side there will be an 800 capacity venue in the basement of the new building.
Shiiit, that's a shame.
Although, it's not like I've been for years. Is the Famous Cock going too? Can't be popular enough to want to add more seating down there, can it?
New owners/landlord, apparently.

The whole site will be redeveloped into a block if flats, I'd imagine, given its location right next to the station.
And I'm sure they'll be very affordable flats too
aye pretty sad
though it was kinda gross
and the live sound was terrible
but still
Almost every time I went there
I found it had shit sound for live bands and an overly expensive bar. Can't say i'm happy about it closing, but it won't really be missed either.
At least we've still got the Astoria
Played here with George Pringle once
RIP Buffalo Bar.
only been here once, for Art Brut's fourth album launch party
fun night, would probably have been more often if I was still into my shambling british indie pop

:D
Such a shame.
Had some great nights there. The 12 Bar Club is going too.
You can tell I'm a fan of tiny, dingy and dirty venues.
12 Bar too?
Eeeesh. I know things move on and the indie scene isn't what it was, but it still feels a bit bleak.
I always hated 12 Bar bar every time I've been in there it's been pretty dead

buffalo bar at least had some redeeming features
the 12 bar is just awful, can't say i'll miss it
n0pe
nope you disagree
or nope you wont miss it?
disagree strongly

Aw, big soft spot for the 12 bar.
Not surprised to hear it's going, seems every week a new dickhead food place is opening on Denmark Street.

Was a pretty crap venue...
...but I'd still rather have a crap venue than no venue.
The Star and Garter in Manchester's shutting down
The Lughole and Tie Dye Tapes in Sheffield are being turned into flats. Shit year for gig venues I actually like
