LOVING Hell Can Wait, been listening to 65 Hunnid on repeat a little bit.
since the Coalition tbh
and I didn't "like" it even though he's a good guy, the joke was just too weak
Blue Suede is probably my favourite. Have I been missing out on Vince Staples for a couple of years? I saw him pop up here and there but nothing ever really stuck with me until now
think he's definitely found his stride and focus of late though, hell can wait and his features on doris are both heavyweight.
there was a kind of tense storyline about him being publicly disavowed from odd future by tyler the creator when their hype wave initially ascended but thankfully he's managed to come up on his own.
also i really feel his collabo mixtape with Larry Fisherman (Mac Miller's production alias) is heavily under-rated there's some great tracks on that and real indicators of Vince's potential
Weird, eerie beats, insightful, lived-in lyrics - and a concern for his immediate surroundings that most rappers don't hit me with.
That song about his dad drug dealing sounds so calustrophobic I feel like I'm in the next room, watching it play out through a crack in the door.
Anyway, anyone looking for a great sub-30 minute listen could do worse than this. Really excited to see where he goes from here. Kid's NEXT. Anyone heard the mixtapes? Should I be on them?
