cardiff, 8th november
jarcrew are supporting
And it's basically FOTL doing a 14-song mclusky set, but all of Jarcrew doing a Jarcrew set.
it's 2/3 of Mclusky. That's a better ratio than 'The Smashing Pumpins', for example.
Debating whether to get one of the bundles but then again am I really going to go to Newport for a night? HMMMMMMMMM
would have fucking loved to go to this but flying to wales is a lot of effort
...but if anyone has a spare to this I would happily pay over the odds for one
Jarcrew! JARCREW! AND FOTL DOING LOADS OF MCLUSKY SONGS!!!
good an excuse as any to sell my mint condition do dallas lp
probably won't though
give the proceeds to the pub
it is FOTL doing Mclusky songs, in Le Pub? Is that right? Mclusky are without their original drummer remember. And Chapple sung a lot of songs so they are presumably out. Still good though, maybe FOTL will do more Mclusky songs in their set.
it's Falkous & Jack (Jack drummed on the last album) and Julia on bass. They wanted to call it 'mclusky' but the organisers went ahead and advertised it as mclusky.
I wonder what Chapple makes of this.
"They wanted to call it 'mclusky' but the organisers went ahead and advertised it as mclusky"
Fucking organisers. Going around doing what people want.
but how will they dry their hands?
so none of that working airblade nonsense
Alan and the Cowboy Killers
he was in Australia. The first Shooting at Unarmed Men album was pretty good. I did see them upstairs in Dempseys in Cardiff when Mclusky split up, I don't recall them doing any Mclusky songs.
but just found out my friend got me one assuming I'd go. YES.
(in case someone pulls out and you end up having a spare)
they were so good
Spent most of my childhood holidays there, even remember getting up early to be at the woolworths there to be 1st in the queue to buy Oasis Be Here Now. In hindsight I was 13, and it seemed important to do that!
Missed out on a ticket for this, add me to the list on the off chance multiple people are looking to offload (I only need one). Ta!
Or non-vital organs, or money, whatever appeals x
and ridiculously loud. I think I saw These Arms are Snakes there. This is all very fuzzy.
Not that I could have gone anyway, but I just haven't looked on twitter much lately.
Sounds like a good cause and a fun night out. Would be nice to see Kelson larging it on stage again too. I love FOTL v2.0 just as much now but those early gigs with Kelson were special...
Just listened to a track and quite liked it. Not my thing but I enjoyed it.
their closest comparison is probably something like Shellac, but then they have their mellower and poppier moments as well. I just tried to put a best-of together but it is all good, the whole of the Do Dallas album is top notch.
15/11. Much bigger venue
Tickets on sale tomorrow

Anyway, buy 'mclusky' & Jarcrew tickets for @CLWBIFORBACH tomorrow. Saturday 15th November. At noon. Buy them at noon. Tomorrow. #savelepub
How is clwb ifor bach? Very tempted to traipse halfway across the country for this. If the venue were half decent that would decide it for me.
definitely worth it
to help save iconic Newport venue Le Pub, Jack, Julia and I are playing a set of mclusky songs in Cardiff, Clwb Ifor Bach, on November 15th along with the best band you've never heard of (trust me on this one) Jarcrew, who are reuniting after 10 years. Tickets go on sale from clwbiforbach.co.uk tomorrow at midday. This is a charity show whereas the UK future of the left tour is for the charity of US, which is important in a different way.*
It is a Saturday night is it not? Good excuse to visit my parents and catch up with some people, I am an ex-Cardiffian. How exactly are tickets procured?
they are on sale via the venue's website, from midday. The last lot went within 40 mins, albeit for a smaller venue, so don't hang about
think it goes through ticketweb, I have made an account.
It all seems a long time since rocking up to see Mclusky play the Welsh Club to about 30 people. I am pretty sure they were supported by a ska punk band once.
One for me and one so someone can come with me.
if it has sold out already? Trying to get one now. Fuck sake.
I managed to get one from We Got Tickets in the end. Looking forward to this.
I only bought two. Wish I had gone for it and got more now.
and the site not working properly on my phone.
If anyone's selling a spare let me know...
but last night was just incredible. Exceeded all my expectations. I had forgotten just how good Jarcrew are. Kelson is an awesome frontman. And 'McLusky', well, 17 songs, tight as fuck. You'd think they'd have been playing these songs together for years. Damian from TSPSI did a great job on John Chappel's vocal parts, and Jack Egglestone made me realise he is my favourite drummer around. Him and Julia make a fantastic rhythm section. Falco paid a wonderful tribute to Macauley Culkin who had apparently died and was then resurrected again during the show. He was full of wit as per usual. Just a incredible night, Those who have tickets for Cardiff next week are in for such a treat. Jealous I can't go to that one
Not sure how brilliantly chaotic the Clwb gig will be, they may have set times and curfews and that.
(I'm sure you were great too)
Hit me up if you're interested. Message here or:
Started nice and gently with Fuck This Band, then when Dethink to Survive kicked in I got showered entirely in beer and the place went nuts. Continued in this vein for an hour or so, cracking out classic after classic. My ears are still ringing, my muscles all hurt, I may actually still be pissed and my shoes smell of beer.

who was Jon's replacement for the night? I was very impressed.
and he was a beast, sounded EXACTLY like Jon which was surreal.
Great night and what a lovely place Cardiff is, not sure what took em so long.
is from the band The St Pierre Snake Invasion, if you wanted to hear more. I think they're great.
Annoyed Cardiff got an extra song in the McLusky set!
I'll be elsewhere, which is a bit of a bummer.
and I still can't think of a gig I've ever enjoyed more than Saturday night.
I was thinking about the many bands I have seen in the Welsh Club and this is top. Better than any of the other Mclusky shows I have seen there either to be honest.
In an odd way I hope they just leave it there. I suspect they will though.
Announcement and tickets on sale at 8?
wegottickets still have some left for this...
its not even listed there
They seem to be playing before Great Big Kiss (the club night). That link has just cost me £15.
I thought it would be the South Wales ones and end of. But more Mclusky songs going into FOTL shows, now three full Mclusky shows... I can see these "one offs" ticking them over quite nicely. Fair play, the place was rammed and was fucking loving it.
Sorted then, a one band crusade to save venues. We just need some more struggling venues round here now.
Does the PM system on this site work? Let's see, eh.
It's next Friday.
Nothing to see here.
Selling these three Do Dallas 7"s for less than a fiver each.
They sometimes go for up to €20, but I'd be happy for them to go to a good home!

Did anyone go?
but I would have been if I still lived in Brixton :(

Consequently, I can't support this kind of nonsense. Riders are getting out of control these days.
