comment on other people's lists
the middle ones 'step out'
migos 'china town'
matmos 'very large green triangles'
dj sprinkles 'sisters, i don't know what this world is coming to'
internet club 'dynamic'
owen pallett 'the secret seven'
the tough alliance 'something special'
the knife 'got 2 let u (shaken up version)'
weird that it plays 3 migos songs? think it is a pretty good summation of what i listen to anyway
that's pretty tight
really ballsy to go up against young thug at this point though
my fav YT song is still Curtains
tbh i've not dug into him much outside the bigger songs and the gucci mane / black portland collab
Black Portland is a little overrated to me.
oh sweet cheers, i'll check it out later
Múm - Green Grass Of Tunnel
MJ Hibbett & the Validators - Leave My Brother Alone
LCD Soundsystem - Someone Great
M83 - Secret Track (the one on Dead Cities etc)
Broken Social Scene - [untitled] (aka the one with a blank name on Bee Hives)
Atlas Sound - So Many Bodies
Eels - Going To Your Funeral Part II
High Places - Sophia
Nirvana - Something in the Way
Cyclefly - Crowns
Pretty standard. the MJ Hibbett track is from a b-sides album I bought years ago and have never really listened to it because it's of very varying quality, but it does have this on it http://mjhibbett.bandcamp.com/track/fucking-hippy
CYCLEFLY :D basically a long time ago I found some naff old Kerrang! covermount CDs (that song is on this one, seriously, look at that artwork http://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Devils-Music-Volume-4/release/657746) and put them into my iTunes as ATP was coming up and I always supplied the music for my regular chalet crew. Hilarious times were had with them.
mj hibbett gave out a free b-sides comp at one of his shows i saw
never listened to it though but it's a different one to that, and i like the fact he has multiple b-side compilations
high places were cool
there was a box of those for freebie in the Indietracks merch tent, I decided against taking one though
I really miss that whole 2008 Upset the Rhythm-bands scene with High Places and Deerhunter and No Age and Ponytail and Parenthetical Girls and stuff. so many good records.
it was this
yeah i love all that stuff. those early abe vigoda records were like the most exciting thing to me in high school
rinsed Skeleton in the summer of 2009 or whenever it was. What an album.
yeah that album is amazing
everyone stop what you are doing and listen to it
opening riff :O
Torche - Holy Roar

I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue - Late Arrivals At The Fishermen's Ball
My Awesome Compilation - Blue Birds Are Blue
Rocket From The Crypt - Velvet Touch
Less Than Jake - Soundtrack Of My Life
Dashboard Confessional - Again I Go Unnoticed
Or do you just have some classic episodes? Legit either way.
got about 10 of them on my itunes, so they're bound to show up!
Veronica Falls - All Eyes On You
Tindersticks - Bearsuit
Spoon - You Got Yr Cherry Bomb
Manic Street Preachers - The Everlasting
Chairlift - Turning
Tindersticks - Travelling Light
Beyoncé - Freakum Dress
The New Pornographers - Ballad Of A Comeback Kid
The Raveonettes - You Hit Me (I'm Down)
If I was listening to this whilst out and about I would probably have pressed "forward" on the Manics and Chairlift tracks. I oddly enjoyed this little exercise. I may do another reply in a few days depending on how much time I have.

Chew Lips - Rising Tide
Blink-182 - Always
LCD Soundsystem - 45:33 (II)
The Velvet Underground - Heroin
AFI - Bleed Black
The Band - Lonesome Suzie
Bruce Springsteen - Jungleland
Not really very reflective of my listening habits, but that's to be expected out of nearly 15k songs. I didn't even realise I had any Springsteen on there. I listen to that Chew Lips track all the time, and I do enjoy 45:33 now and again, rest of them are nearly never played.
Mount eerie - yawning sky
Sophie - bipp
Tim hecker - amp, drugs, mellotron
Forest swords - thor's stone
Black lips - drugs
Japandroids - nights of wine and roses
Bon Iver - woods
Flying lotus - riot
Mount eerie - mouth of sky
Vampire weekend - obvious bicycle
Stara rzeka - przebudzenie...
Did 11 'cause mount eerie came up twice. Pretty good playlist I reckon. Not totally indicative of my listening in that there's not a lot of drone stuff on there.
You give the chaos forces of the universe a DJ set; and sometimes get to find really great stuff you ain't listened to in a while.
Here's my list (I started providing some mega wanky commentary partway through)
- Aphex Twin - 'We Are The Music Makers'
- Foals - 'Milk & Black Spiders'
- Cuushe - 'From the Window on the Plane (Kixnare Remix)'
- Godspeed You! Black Emperor - 'We Drift Like Worried Fire'*
(I was planning to play them all; but I had to skip this one by Godspeed, cause it's twenny minutes long, man. I may make a point of listening to it on its own at a later date)
- Mogwai - 'How To Be A Werewolf'
- Here We Go Magic - 'Moon'
- Fleet Foxes - 'Your Protector'
(this and Here We Go Magic, I haven't listened to in ages. I remember really liking some of the tracks on the HWGM album ('Collector' and 'Casual', esp. -- also, I can't believe that came out in 2010!); but it's one of those albums I haven't listened to in full as much as it probably deserves. The Fleet Foxes album is my dad's, and brought to mind many car journeys from around that time (2008!?!? My pension payments should be soon, right?). Nice song, too.)
- Arcade Fire - Haiti
(my (possibly) favourite track off of my (pretty much definitely) favourite album by Arcade Fire. I always enjoy their other albums when I listen to them, but it's 'Funeral' I always come back to: it's just such a brilliantly concise, yet varied, document of a band sounding so young and naive, and yet so ambitious and passionate)
- Camera Obscura - 'A Sister's Social Agony'
(got this album towards the end of my third year of university; quite appropriate timing given that this album's melancholically wistful sorta vibe fits the tone of that whole time. Be lucky that the track 'Lunar Sea' didn't come on, else I'd have probably described that vibe with about seven-trillion times more really pretentious prose or something)
- Belle & Sebastian - 'I'm Waking Up To Us'
(there's ten; I've quite enjoyed listening and typing all this stuffe)
Maniere Des Bohemiens - Noto Swing
Franz Ferdinand - Ulysses
Fleet Foxes - Someone You'd Admire
Jared Emerson-Johnson - The Rat Creature Chase
Pearl Jam - Animal
Anais Mitchell - Shepherd
Caribou - Irene
Eleanor Friedberger - Glitter Gold Year
The Jam - Beat Surrender
East 17 - It's Alright
Last one inexplicably crops up on one of those 100 Hits compilation thingies which rather loosely sticks to its 90s dance definition. Which isn't always a bad thing, All Saints Never Ever is on there as well!
Liars - Ill Valley Prodigies
Neutral Milk Hotel - Three Peaches
Thee Oh Sees - No Spell
Kanye West - Can't Tell Me Nothing

Good spread of stuff there. There's tons of Talking Heads and Kraftwerk on there that it could have picked, but I'm mostly surprised that it didn't troll me by picking ten non-sequential Bill Hicks tracks or something.

Pressure - Submerse
Fresh Feeling - Eels
is this and yes - My Bloody Valentine
Steam Machine - Daft Punk
Girl Like You - Hartfield
Theresa’s Sound-World is one of my favourite ever SY tracks so glad to hear it come up. Slow Down is a solid early tune by Blur that sounds a bit like early MBV, and funnily enough I was listening to a bit of Leisure for the first time in years this morning. Been listening to a bunch of Japanese shoegaze recently so nice to have some Hartfield there.
Always enjoy these lists.

1) Holy Fuck - Milkshake - any time I actually listen to Holy Fuck I remember I really fucking like them, but I just never think to put them on. Are they still a thing? Last album was great.
2) Joanna Newsom - Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie - there are no words
3) The Beatles - Lovely Rita - don't know this one though I'm sure it's one of the famous ones. Beatles are pretty sick though, right?
4) Wild Beasts - The Club of Fathomless Love
5) Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Blaise Bailey Finnegan III - this doesn't get regular plays because of how extensive the vocal sample is (once you've heard it a few times it sort of loses effect). Godspeed are pretty sick though, right?
6) Animal Collective - The Purple Bottle - If it isn't my very favourite song then I don't know what is.
7) Sophie - Lemonade
8) Wu Tang Clan - Clan in da Front - I love about 10 Wu Tang/associated members tracks, but a lot of it leaves me really cold, this song especially.
9) Sun Araw - The Summumm - looking forward to listening to this in the Mexican sun.
10) Deafheaven - Sunbather - FUCK YES! New track is pretty sick, right?
don't listen to the first album at all really, doesn't work without the guitar tone. so quiet.
2 world up my ass by circle jerks
haaaah, punk rock
3 diabolic scheme by the hives
sounds a bit like at the drive in and bit like a bond theme. love the hives.
oh guitar solo.
4 flesh eater by spore
spore is a good band name. 90s noise rock is a good time
5 wether's skin by cath and phil tyler
there's a weird triplet skip thing in her vocals at 1:45 that always makes me happy, like when the backing vocals come in and he starts letting the bass notes rattle too. "to wallop your wife it is surely a sin"
6 please stand up by british sea power
7 sanctuary by ruins
hahaha this says it's a miles davis cover.
8 worry about it later by the futureheads
barry hyde was a big one for vests back then

no their best
10 i cant get no satisfaction by otis redding
Detritus- 17 Fingers (Mothboy Remix).
Air- Clouds Up.
Nine Inch Nails- Self Destruction, Pt 3
The National- Bloodbuzz Ohio. Always disappointed by the production of this. Seem to remember seeing them play it live on Jimmy Fallon before the album came out and it sounded incredible. The album version just feels a bit flat in comparison.
Missy Elliot- The Rain (Supa Duper Fly)
Steve Reich- Third Movement, Pt 2. Not my favourite stuff of his. Got bored halfway through and moved onto the next track.
Emulator Punks- Breathe. Chiptune cover of the Prodigy. Always makes me laugh. Does go on a bit though.
Los Campesinos!- It's never that easy though, is it? Probably one of my least favourite songs off this album.

after reading This Band Will Be Your Life. Metal Circus is brilliant, I had never heard it before. The rest is just a random mix, I have loads of reggae on there at the moment as I go through phases with it.
Seems to be the perfect mix of where they were coming from into where they were going. Zen Arcade was my favourite before now but i think Metal Circus is going to take the crown....
