not really surprised though. No Jello = not really the Dead Kennedys
because I can't imagine DK being sung in any other voice and it would be rubbish to try and impersonate JB
At least you had an enjoyable trip to Koko though?
kept talking about British politics...something he obviously hasn't got a fucking clue about.
It was really sad. East Bay Ray's guitar skills though were the highlight (as always).
and really enjoyed it. Obviously the vocals didn't match up to Jello's but he did a good job. But you kind of know all this before you go, that while the band might be shit hot it won't be with the same without Jello so...
YearS and years ago, I was about 13. He wasn't as annoying as he was last night.
Their current tour singer is Skip McSkipster, whoever that is.
being somewhat dubious about the whole affair I took the pragmatic route of getting as tanked up as possible to make it easier to enjoy it, which worked
instead. He still performs and is great. Caught him ironically before the riots a few years back. He was fantastic and they played 3 or 4 DK's classics.
he was really good, and he knows his stuff. And he lavished my band with praise.*
*he said we were good
Sure he'll tour again and hopefully soon. Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School Of Medicine. They played in the tiny room a Birmingham Academy. He changed the song lyrics to fit the then political climate, he ranted against Cameron and has hardly changed, razor sharp wit. They played (amongst GSOM material) Forkboy (LARD) and California Uber Alles, Holiday In Cambodia and Too Drunk To Fuck (which i've never really rated, but it was fantastic live).
