Anyone going to the London show tonight? Has anyone seen them on this tour, if so which vinyl LPs are they selling?
I did not know this was happening. Love this band.
favourite gig of the weekend, probably. someone at the start said unironically "where's the drop? this is shit" and left. that's right dickhead, bounce.
don't think they had vinyl at wheatsheaf show a few years ago, but charged £15 for a cd-r, which seemed a lot.
I haven't chatted to them much yet but the Blood Sport guys said that the Blast First Petite presses of the records haven't actually made it to this tour which I'm gutted about. Thought they were going to be selling them!!
Were brilliant at Corsica in May though so no doubt will be again.
Musically I thought it was slightly better than the Corsica show earlier this year but was a really similar set, shame that the stage is so low at Birthdays this really put a downer on the gig. Also I don’t know why but the crowd seemed so different to the other times I’ve seen them, may be the local Dalston twats were there in force trying to piss people off on purpose – the crowd really did feel different.
Birthdays is a crap venue and anyone under 6 ft that was more than 3 rows back couldn't see anything. The crowd was a nightmare - I started out near the front but a bunch of twats behind me started the sort of dancing that involves barging in to anyone nearby. One guy in particular was a total twat and I almost got into a fight with him.
It's a shame because the band were great but I definitely enjoyed the Corsica Studios gig a lot more. I'll also be avoiding Birthdays in the future unless Bradford Cox plays a gig there or something. There are so many better venues in London.
The crowd were cool (apart from the obligatory twat constantly holding up his phone/camera to take pictures) and everyone had a lovely time.
i like blood sport as well - like a good Foals...
