I.e. the first one
sinister and primitive and also a bit preppy
(from the same period as well please)
Wow. My grandmother was born before cars and lived to see the moon landing and ... she bought me Kiss Alive and Bowie's Changes and Aerosmith Rocks and I can tell you this for sure:
No one on the planet would have described the Stooges as preppy in the '70s.
Light yourself a Virginia Slims, we've come a long way, baby.
but Blood Red River by the Scientists aye?
I know I could look this up but y'know.
Anyway, that show was good and she played loads of great post- pre- sub- proto- Stooges sounds
Bit obvious, but still great
Or Rocket From The Crypt? Can't remember the title of this one.
Crushing, brutal caveman riffs, everything recorded in the red, rock & roll distilled down to its essence.
Lyrics might be a problem though
How about Rocket From The Tombs:
more rock n roll and earlier than the Stooges, but some great raw garage rock.
Last year's Slave Vows was excellent but you can't really go wrong with any of their stuff.
Bit more garagey and bratty but they have this rock and roll retro edge which I like
was basically Raw Power Era Stooges
