last time I went the sound was really poor. It seems to be a bit of a recurring problem and it'd be interesting to know if there had been any improvements in the past year or so
...they've moved the position of the stage so they can have it louder and not offend the sensibilities of local residents (who live about a mile away anyway and the other side of a bloody great road).
I tell you what I want to rant about though, and that's the sound at Clapham Common gigs - unless you are right front/centre then you literally may as well be listening to it on your phone. Shite.
Fucking Pixies, like.
they've obviously sold out Earl's Court, are headlining Glasto and are a Pretty Big Band, but less than two months' notice for a big outdoor show for a band already playing a big London gig and a big televised festival gig in the month beforehand seems a bit wacky.
thicking they are a last minute replacement for Prince.
though given they're in the middle of a world tour it'd be kind of surprising if the ink had only just dried. I dunno. Wonder how Libs are selling?
So well at this
Really on form. Great atmosphere. Ian McCulloch came on to do The Cutter. Tonight has Lorde and 2manyDjs supported, sorely tempted to go along again.
Offering a 2 for 1 offer to this, to anyone who bought tickets to the Earls Court gigs from them. This is good, but means sales are struggling
Where did you see this? Ive had no luck looking for it.
I had a spare day in Paris and saw that Arcade Fire were in town, so I turned up to the venue and looked for the box office to see if any tickets were still available.
The first guy who I approached who was waiting near the box office asked me if I wanted to be on the guest list as he had a spare spot. Turned out he had VIP tickets as well, and so I ended up watching the concert standing next to Jarvis Cocker. Not bad for free.
After seeing them at earls court i can't wait to catch them in Hyde park. Lats time they were there it was to a crowd of 50k so i'm sure the 241 is to get it up to there again. they've performed quite a lot of Uk dates in the last 4 months and still have glastonbury to do so it doesn't feel as much of a special gig, but it DEFINATELY IS!
such a good live band with all their new tunes....let's go!
and answering rhg_99 the sound is actually good now theyve got that british summer time thing there. i was there for the stones last summer and it sounded great!!
