Seeing as this week is (for some people) all about the wonder of the Eurovision Song Contest, it's a good time to point out the modern alternative, the EuroMusic Contest 2014. It's a "digital music competition", basically a Eurovision "adapted to today’s technologies and music industry...and representative of the emergent music scene." There are 40 competing countries, over 700 acts, and it's open for public vote. Drowned in Sound is part of the jury for this, so it would be great if people could listen/vote/check out what they are doing. There's some interesting stuff being submitted.
The Grand Final will eventually be in Paris, and DiS will hopefully be doing some reporting (or something) around the event.
