With Geoff Rickly from Thursday !
Was never a fan but I really hope the others can make music again.
I can't imagine what it must feel like to not only lose your current career, but also for everything you've previously done in your career to just disappear, as if the last 15 years or whatever had never happened. It must be absolutely gutting.
and filter out any material that has an explicit personal input from that rather unpleasant former lead singer... but fair play to them. They must have had quite a difficult last few months :-/
They're not really my kind of genre but the first album was a very good post-hardcore effort and the third was full of punk-pop anthems. I saw them at Manchester Academy with my sister in 2002, but unfortunately it was sullied by being in the same room (albeit a big one) as THAT guy.
hope he plays last train home
and hope it's good. Best o' luck to them.
although "it's like everything I grew up on, like little bit of New Order; little bit of Joy Division; little bit of the Cure; like it's just so forward-thinking" doesn't really make sense.
but Geoff's always been into that sort of stuff. the last couple of Thursday albums were well influenced by that sort of UK music. It won't be anything like lostprophets.
I take it he means its forward-thinking as those bands were in the 70s/80s
They should call this band pog form
and touring and recording and all that lark, and who've put a lot of time and effort into a career that another person effectively destroyed for them, will get to keep doing it. But jfc it sounds like it's going to be awful.
that's a little less interesting
the mix is really loud.
I think I like this. Potentially quite a bit, actually. Fuck.
Take my 99p for the A-side though.
I still kinda like it though.
Sounds like jimmy eat world to me.
