Anybody going for tickets this morning? Expect they'll sell out in a flash but any quick links would be appreciated.
off back to bed
They're not even for me, did it for a friend, and now I feel really fucking jealous.
Was trying for my little sis, it only let me through once they'd sold out. Still let me fill in her details though before saying none available though the bastards. I hate this time of year.
Well done to all those that managed it.
I keep trying until I know they're definitely sold out via twitter or something - I got that sold out message at first but kept trying and it went through the second time.
Not been since '94 but only paid once (went every year from '85 - 94 that it was on). Sneaking in used to be a doddle as the site is H U G E.
but it is two layers of decent fences, patrols going round, CCTV etc. It would take an organised battle to break it down in a few places then swamp them to get in, you couldn't just chuck a rope up and climb over.
The main thing I wonder about breaking into a festival is the practicality of it, where do you leave the car, how do you physically get to some far-flung part of the site to break in? What if you don't make it? I think I'd rather pay.
Gonna GoogleEarth it
I saw a programme about Glastonbury (I think it was more about the fight with the council) which showed a lot of the security they have. I think someone managed to make it in during that. The chances are slim, I reckon though get a few groups of you in strategic places around the site, then make little breaks to distract them and finally have a big push. You won't all get in though, in fact I doubt anyone will.
How about a different approach, hiding in the trailer of a burger van that is going to the festival? The good thing about Glasto is once you are in, you are free to roam. Must be a good feeling once you make it.
that it MUST still be possible
I believe a small number of people have done it. But it is not the piece of piss that it used to be, they have surrounded it in two layers of decent sized fences with patrols roaming round between these perimeter fence. I would go for a different approach than the fence, hiding in someone's backpack or something. You are far more likely to spend a cold hungry night in a wooded area half a mile from the fence before walking back to Shepton mallet or wherever it technically is held.
