Apparently has passed away. Horrible news, RIP man.
Serious bummer. Never did get round to buying his album from last year. Maybe I will now.
RIP DJ Rashad amazing producer and DJ who took the footwork sound really far these last few years all around the world.
Teklife Volume 1 - Welcome To The Chi
Is one of the best albums around, seriously blew me away ever since I heard it and Double Cup was a well nice listen. I thought we'd get so much more from him, big loss.
Shouts to his family and friends.
Itz Not Rite
Let It Go
Freakin Me On The Flo
We Run It
Teklife Vol.1, Double Cup, Just A Taste, Rollin' EP, I Don't Give A Fuck all pretty essential.
What terrible news. RIP
Has a 9 year old son too.
So damn sad.
One of a handful of musicians whose skill and talent has ushered me out of my comfort zone over the past few years. Half-memories of seeing Kode9 playing out tracks off Double Cup last year, a wonderful night. RIP
One of my absolute favourite artists of the past few years. Somehow never took my chances to see him play, so was extra hyped for the Hyperdub 10th birthday show next month.
Fuck. So sad. His influence on dance music will be massive... RIP :(
Produced some of the freshest music of recent times, and was at the absolute top of his game. RIP.
this has hit me harder than p much any musician death in living memory. unqualifiably a master & a pioneer; i'm devastated he couldn't go on
Massive loss, huge insperation for dance music around the globe. So many people where taking insperation from Footwork and having so much fun with it due to DJ Rashad. He was a figure head for the scene taking it all over and spreading the word.
Interview he did with DJ Spinn.
Big set he did with dancers and all that
If you got to see him you'll know how much fun it was. Every other post on twitter has been about him for hours and hours now massive loss. Damn.
is that i had this feeling that it was all building to something major.. he had so much potential and had already influenced so much at such a young age. True innovator - RIP.
Just A Taste and Double Cup were brilliant. Can't believe it.
Only came across him through Double Cup last year. Brilliant album.
Real shame. RIP.
Chicago Tribune 'Music lost a legend'
Family say coroner's report shows a clot that started in his leg led to the footwork/juke pioneer's death
RIP man. At least you went out like a fucking rock star.
What the hell?
Honestly, this has made me pretty fucking upset, and I was trying to find some sort of a silver lining. But it's a stupid thing to say.
That glorifying drug use is really fucking stupid, and that the added tragedy that there may well have been some real issues in his life that he was struggling with is a real killer for me.
Again, stupid thing to say, but I guess everyone says shit without thinking sometimes.
Gonna leave it there, before I do him any more disservice.
Sorry my reply was rather brusque to start with
'Cause I Know How U Feel' is just, wow, the amount of emotion he wrings out of that sample... Still can't believe he's gone to be honest.
