...than having to resort to doing their poster in MS Paint.
it's a shite poster for sure.
They don't need to advertise a sold-out event.
I'd rather Glasto stuck to their usual annual awful poster than spent £100,000 making a pretentious film like Primavera. More $ for the charities.
Line-up is actually one of the more consistent of recent years. But pretty much bar Dolly there's nowt there that is a big must see/you haven't seen a million times before. No Kate Bush/Outkast/Prince/Fleetwood Mac?
Makes me feel slightly better it's gonna be the first in a good few years I'll probably miss.
...but it seems unlikely.
I wouldn't be surprised if Bestival and Wireless were Outkast's only two UK dates. I'm torn between attending my first Glastonbury or going to Bestival for the third time.
as they're playing Wireless and Bestival they're obvs going for the big bucks. Bestival have probably spunked half their budget on them. I'm pretty much going to Bestival just so I don't have to see them with a load of shits that''ll be at Wireless.
have said that Bestival and Wireless are there only two Uk festivals this year
Fuck all the haterz.
special guest sat headliner are metallica. Keeping it quiet because of sonisphere.
I'd quiet like Depache Mode please
because of commercial reasons. Sonisphere was billed as their only uk date...
Sonisphere would want them to announce Metallica as headliner, as there'd be a lot of attention given to it, which would likely help their sales?
Metallica will probably be announced after every resale ticket has been sold.
Arcade Fire, Dolly Parton, Dolly Parton, Elbow, Robert Plant, Lana Del Rey, Pixies, Massive Attack, Disclosure, Manic Street Preachers, MIA, Bryan Ferry, Richie Hawtin, De La Soul, Goldfrapp, MGMT, Jurassic 5, Dexys, Bonobo, Kelis, Blondie, Warpaint, The Wailers, Wilko Johnson, James Blake, Metronomy, Tinariwen, Chvrches, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, Interpol, Mogwai, John Grant, Annie Mac, Chromeo, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Midlake, Four Tet, ESG, The Sun Ra Arkestra, Parquet Courts, Toumani & Sidiki Diabate, Chance the Rapper, Phosphorescent, Connan Mockasin, Public Service Broadcasting, Courtney Barnett, Radiophonic Workshop, Suzanne Vega, Tune-Yards, Eats Everything, Jamie xx, Jagwar Ma, and Danny Brown, there's not much I want to see there.
In reality I'll probably see about 5 of those acts max..
Most people who go to Glasonbury are probably looking at that line up with a huge ? expression on their face, I think we got lucky.
As for me I really like the look of the line up so far :)
There's probably about 30 acts I already want to see and I know that I'll only end up seeing about 7 because Glastonbury.
Much more excited than I was about last year's line-up (Stones wow factor aside).
it's a super radio 6 centric line up
Anyway i don't care, its my first glasto in 4 years and i'm just really happy to be heading back
it's just usually the first line up announcement is often the dullest.
this confirms it Glastonbury's Emily Eavis: 'We can't name Saturday headliner for contractual reasons' http://dlvr.it/5Jt774
Emily said the rest of the line up will be out in May.
I did dun a playlist
