I've gone with Dirty Projectors' Swing Lo Magellan.
Is this a thing?
perfect timing, it's full of sweltering hazy Manhattan summer jams, gorgeous stuff.
Hence albums like the aforementioned Salad Days being released just as shitty weather's turning good, I reckon.
Swing Lo Magellan's a great shout. I like blown-out fuzz and/or trance-inducing dubby stuff. Sun Araw (/& The Congos) & Thee Oh Sees are both great when it's sunny and hazy.
2 is still my go-to for lazy hungover afternoons spent wilting in the sun.
If it gets and stays sunny, and not weird rain fog like I had today on the way to work I reckon Bloom, and maybe even Violent Femmes will get a spin.
Oh, and Gorky's How I Long to Feel that Summer in my Heart
Dinosaur Jnr suits the sun too. Really want summer now.
is my go-to every year. Also Vampire Weekend - Contra is a good shout for spring.
I've been really enjoying the Dan Croll album recently, it's nothing mind-blowing but perfect for this time of year. Think somewhere in the middle of Metronomy, Vampire Weekend and Mystery Jets.
Annual tradition of marking the first sunny day of the year with it
shame about ray comes out.
Especially the track Saints.
#Summer's ready when you are#
I stuck Bish Bosch by Scott Walker on for the sunny drive into work. It didn't work at all, not recommended.
Ideally I'd have gone for Chutes Too Narrow or the Green album or Daisies of the Galaxy or Mermaid Avenue, they all work.
yeah that's a pretty awful shout
Always my welcome to the brighter seasons album.
Always forget about this album. Whenever I remember it I remember to listen to Daughters too which is always fucking GREAT!
DJ Q - Ineffable
Sun Araw - Belomancie
...anything by Murlo
Are sure fire sunshine listens.
I always find myself reaching for...
Flying Lotus - Los Angeles
...anything by Max B, Future.
Neglected it a couple of years ago when hammering Cosmogramma but reckon I actually prefer it. Camel and Melt! are both crazy good.
the ones that came after have there moments but never feel quite right.
sublime records, yet I never hear anything about this band at all? What happened? Perfect record for warm sunny mornings.
any house or techno with lots of space in it. the warmth fills the space.
