really digging the pre chorus on this, been in my head for a few days now
what you into atm?
Obviously been around for ages but technically only came out in the UK this week.
but i dont like the song
Tove Lo - 'Habits': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSCZerzrUmo&feature=kp
MØ - 'Don't Wanna Dance': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gc7SfWGT-ak
Sure, not conventional pop but Tove Lo is getting steady Radio 1 play at least.
I was going to choose Don't Wanna Dance as the MØ song to link to as well but there's plenty of other options, full of pop goodness that album.
I mean, her early stuff I can understand is obviously very pop-based, but this album, great as it is, is almost entirely guitar based really. I certainly would associate her way more as being an indie artist. than a pop artist. (Excuse the crassness, if you can get past my shameless and ultimately pointless pidgeonholing perhaps I may have a point, somewhere)
Is that she's no more "pop" really than a band like Arctic Monkeys, who I guarantee nobody would mention in this thread.
It certainly a lot more 'pop' than most stuff I listen to. She's as 'pop' as, say, Robyn, and that's fine with me. If wasn't such a horrible phrase you could probably call her a 'crossover artist'.
I think some of the album has a more mainstream feel (Boys, 24 Hours, Nobody Asked Me), some of it is more 'indie' (the title track, Omanko, Heavy Metal Heart). It's just a really strong record throughout with memorable songs, no sappy ballads and real character. That's all that matters isn't it?
Videos for the other songs on a new EP due over the next month. Don't think it's quite up there with her best songs but still enjoyable.
1 Got U (feat. Jax Jones) - Duke Dumont
2 My Love (feat. Jess Glynne) - Route 94
3 All Of Me - John Legend
4 Word Up! - Little Mix
5 Tsunami (Jump) - DVBBS & Borgeous (feat. Tinie Tempah)
6 Happy - Pharrell Williams
7 Rather Be - Clean Bandit (feat. Jess Glynne)
8 Dark Horse - Katy Perry (feat. Juicy J)
9 I'm A Freak - Enrique Iglesias (feat. Pitbull)
10 Kids Again - A Bamford, F.T Smith, Gleave & Example
Losing my Edge...
absolute shite though, innit.
quite enjoying the new say lou lou song:
also really like this song by f(x):
this song by 2NE1 is, imho, the pinnacle of music:
her first name is France, her album is 'France' and she's from... France.
tres cool electro-pop!
