I bloody loved that band.
Still quite fond of a catchy <2m Buzzocks'y jerky pop song.
I thought this was a thread about actual shoes...
Keeps playing that song that starts with the woodblock sounding thing and then the really long riff (can't remember what it's called). Most annoying song ever.
Many a good time spent in the day incorrectly 'jamming' that in friend's bedrooms
They haven't actually split up have they? One of those unofficial indefinite hiatuses.
At the time I wasn't really into it, I was a bit snobby about the craze for 'angular' music by that time. But in retrospect it's great. I liked the whole aesthetic of a lot of British indie at that time, it was before 'indiepop' crawled off into its Indietracks hole, at that time it seemed to mix with 'guitar' music much more, making guitar music more interesting than most of the stodgy stuff around at the moment (I miss stuff like The Research, The Long Blondes, The 1990s, early Guillemots, Patrick Wolf, early Hot Club de Paris).
I remember seeing them supporting Jamie T in 2006, they were infinitely better than Jamie T.
since Panic Prevention is one of my fav albums and he was awesome when I saw him live, but we can agree on HCDP awesomeness. And yeah they combined the two eps into like one full length, go search it out - it's on spotify, thats the only one on youtube tho
which was a bit embarrassing at the time coz my then-gf knew the bass player's brother so we hung out with them after their Manchester gigs and stuff, me trying not to fanboy too much
was absolutely fantastic
always thought it was better than the Maccabees debut, who most people unfairly compared them to. Morden is still a tune to this day, and the one about Keira Knightley was cool
loved that as a relative young un
recall them, friend was a fan but I was only listening to Bloc Party, The Shins and Morrissey at the time for some reason.
