I have two tickets to see Chvrches in London at The Forum this Saturday at face value. PM me if interested.
anyone wants it? None of my mates fancy going.
My ticket has gone.
Both yours for £25 + next day delivery postage (~£10).
Let me know before 2:30pm today so that I can get them to you in time x
They seem to be for upstairs - never been upstairs in the Forum before, what's the deal with it? Is it unreserved seating? Says something about standing as well?!
They're long padded benches (sort of). There aren't arm rests that divide your seats. There's a bar right at the top where you can stand and watch the band too. Upstairs seating at The Forum (and Brixton too) is a trade off. You get a good view but you need to get there early to grab a good seat. At The Forum there's no backrest either. Also be careful if you're coming back from the bar carrying drinks. I've seen more than one person fall over whilst trying to get back to their seat. I had standing last night and it was very packed with a crap view. I hope I haven't sounded too negative. You'll enjoy it. Good view and sound. Have a good gig.
Tickets were free so can't be too miffed if it's not the best view in the house.
Put our beers down, show started, the sound was so loud it shuffled them off the little shelf. Spent the rest of the gig standing in (expensive, wasted) beer.
Otherwise a great show! Great sound, great view, great performance. The crowd were weirdly quiet up until The Mother We Share though. Our friends down in Standing said it was fairly lacking in atmosphere. Weird really, as a band with only one album and no real 'hits' I would've expected the crowd to be really into the whole set!
Ending on By The Throat was a great shout though, love the chorus in that.
Bonus arty photo I took by accident:
'The Mother We Share' got quite a lot of Radio One airplay
Hardly a big enough single to sell out two nights at The Forum off the back of.
I don't know about that, I mean their show at the Great Escape last year in (admittely a far smaller venue) was rammed way before they got on stage and a quick discussion in the crowd seemed to be full of people going in on the basis on that single and the fact they had a buzz. An album release and much more radio/blog exposure later the crowd could be full of people who have heard or streamed the single without necessarily buying it.
I think the singles chart is a really bad way to define a hit single these days, especially in a scene where the target audience for physical record sales doesn't seem to quite aline for the most part... I mean it's not like Chrvches appeal to the same cachement of people that dictate the charts.
full of wankers talking loudly, taking selfies (utter wankers) and basically just pissing around whilst the band were playing. I should have got upstairs tickets in hindsight. The other times I've seen the band the crowds have been ok. With success, you'll attract more Oasis fans unfortunately.
