1. It's sunny again! Animal Collective are without doubt the greatest extant band. It turns out I even love Centipede Hz.
2. Finally got round to listening to a couple other Microphones albums (after falling in love with The Glow pt. 2 a year or so ago). It Was Hot, We Stayed in the Water is spectacular, isn't it? And Mount Eerie is also absurdly good but you definitely need to be in the right frame of mind for that one. Not as wild on Don't Wake Me Up but then I've only listened to it once.
3 & 5. The sun has been making me feel nostalgic I guess. The Shins really do have some fucking great songs. Listening to Death Cab was a bit hit and miss though - some stuff still feels really vital but how I used to listen to those lyrics without laughing I have no idea.
4. Really solid album. It's a shame I only got round to hearing this due to noticing it on Pitchfork instead of through that thread on him a while back, although maybe it was good to hear it in the sun. That 'my only wish a tabula' song (if that's what the sample says, I have no idea) is a fucking belter.
Played that Angel Olsen record a bunch more than scrobbles would indicate, especially Lights Out and Dance Slow Decades. Can't wait to see her later in the month.
So there's a bunch of banal information about me, I'd like to hear yours now.
