I can't do this can I, short of duplicating a track and panning each to left/right? Bugger.
but yeah, just cloning it and panning L and R would work, but the result would be the same providing you don't get phasing issues
It's all on one instrument (piano).
i don't get it
You're right. I'm an idiot. My friend has sent me through a wave file of the whole thing for me to chop up, and half the pieces are in mono - but obviously all the individual tracks will be in mono, and can then be put through as stereo for the final track (I don't have access to the ProTools file, so am waiting on her to check that she can fix everything).
Abandon thread, I'm a complete amateur.
that will give a sort of stereo effect to a mono track recording like this. I think they apply echo in some clever way to give a 'bigger' sound.
but all your individual sources will be mono unless you have some fancy stereo mic or something.
as all the invidual tracks are all still separated, but thanks. I think not being able to see the ProTools file is slightly stressing me out that all is lost...
What software did you use? On garage band you can set mono/stereo after it's recorded, it records both if available I think
