I'll be there.
Except I need to go and pick them up as Stargreen are a shambles but I'm looking to sell the pair, any takers?
if it's standing?
But i'll take it if you're selling? I'll send you a PM.
If it's still going? Will send a message...
as for Fuck Buttons. Will be worth getting there early for him, even if he appears to have done away with the live band. Was still amazing at Oval Space last year.
Fuck Buttons are on last.
say that Fuck Buttons will be done in time for the last tube.
glad its on late too, make a night out of it. haven't seen fuck buttons live before so really excited for that, and the field too.
i possibly have a spare going too if anyone is interested.
They played for ages. 6.8
HAXAN CLOAK (DJ): 7:25pm
THE FIELD: 8:10pm
THE BUG: 9:15pm
FUCK BUTTONS: 10:30pm
THE HAXAN CLOAK (DJ): 12:00am
LEE GAMBLE (DJ): 1:00am
Lee Gamble dj set!
But pretty jealous of everyone going.
Everyone on here raves about them, which makes me think they're probably crap.
PUNX NOT DED.
Each to their own, innit.
The Bug will blow them off the stage.
can't see there being a whole lot of crossover...
Haxan Cloak, The Field, Fuck Buttons, The Bug and Lee Gamble. Not just a headliner with one shit support band. Wish I'd realised. I went to Bill Callahan and Alasdair Roberts which was awesome anyway so nevermind.
with that late curfew time and I can't say I blame him. Fuck that, way too tardy and way past my bedtime.
hadnt heard anything other than london zoo (?) years ago which i thought was okay. ended up with a hypeman shouting at a relatively immobile forum for 45 minutes. not for me really.
the field was quite good but nothing really added to the records by being live. fuck buttons were really good.
The Bug could have been longer/later but I enjoyed. I like his tendency to just spinback the track whenever he feels like it and play something else, total mess. :D And/or just stick a deafening siren over the whole thing. When he dropped 'I Luv U' it somehow came as a total surprise to me even tho he did so when I saw him play before!?
+ the ending was pretty much harsh noise, great.
Fuck Buttons were amazingg!
but yeah there was something wrong sound-wise during The Bug
The Field were on too early and seemed way too short. I wish he'd cut out the long intros and just get to the heart of the track so he can play more songs.
every track seemed to end on a MBV style wall of feedback
Fuck Buttons were great, visuals really good
and found their stop-start style pretty irritating. Glad their set was quite short.
Thought The Field was excellent. Most songs were cut considerably shorter wherever possible and the selection was spot on. Really got into that for the short time it was on.
FB were great as usual. Restored my faith in their live performance of Olympians too. Last 2 times I've seen them play that they truly murdered it. They're nailed the visuals now too.
I fucked off about 1 - would've stayed for the rest of the DJs but they failed to restore any sort of vibe after FB came off. Very good night all the same.
The field was great. Was real excited about seeing him, and the set built really really nicely.
The bug was disappointing IMO. like above, felt all the sirens and backspins were jarring. the levels i also though were off. shame
Fuck buttons blew me away. Totally didn't expect it to hit that hard. Everything clicked from the tracks to the visuals/strobing. Astonishingly good.
