One thing you can't deny is that Noel is incredibly honest, I was even surprised how scathing he ended up at the end towards the music he was writing as opposed to the music he was participating in.
Good stuff, I'm all for Noel content without Liam.
excellent when he gets to Standing on the Shoulder... era.
Very uninspired at this point. What was the next one of this album? Oh fucking hell, fuuuuuuuuuuck, I fucking hate this song.
also good on the be here now stuff - Why didn't someone stop me?
He should do a show in the style of Beavis and Butthead or something, where he just watches a bunch of music videos and takes the piss out of them.
I love how cynical he gets about his own music, and says that Standing on the Shoulder... shouldn't even had been made.
would love to see him end up with his own chat/radio show as any time i've seen him interviewed he's been good quality
It's good that commentary though just to see what he thinks of the songs
Who Feels Love is great don't care what he says
I assume you just mean average moany Northern man. We're all like it.
i think he believes it. and also knows Liam probably doesn't haha.
"A man with legs made of sausages? Fuckin' 'ell"
I really want to like Damon Albarn and really want to hate Noel Gallagher but I just can't help hating the former and kinda liking the latter. Help.
he'd probably be my favourite person, tbh.
since the mid 90s.
For the last 10 years Albarn has been mainly doing large collaborative projects covering a wide range of genres/creative practices. He's not really comparable to Noel Gallager in any way?
and has always been extremely good at absorbing different genres and filtering through his own pop songwriting - sometimes he hits the mark, and sometimes he doesn't. Gallagher, by comparison, is very one-trick, but when he's on form he does that one trick extremely well. I do agree, though, Gallagher comes across as having more personality than Albarn does. I get more out of Albarn's best music, but I'd rather hang out with Noel Gallagher any day of the week.
enjoyed this :D
You can tell he's being completely genuine, not just self-deprecating for the sake of it.
I only made it to show a mate. and now it's viral!! Scary stuff.
He's not as negative throughout the whole commentary as this video makes out.
He still has the bluster of "this tune was BRILLIANT" for most of the good ones.
It's slightly less interesting towards the end (2002-2009) because he quite likes all of that (mostly subpar) material. Liam commentates on two songs, but it really wasn't worth cutting out!
and good username
so hats off
Good work Nuts_N_Gum
Where is this commentary actually from? The Time Flies DVD?
It's been out for years
A bit weird that it has taken an edited version on youtube for the NME et al to pick up on it.
Nice darts Noel
