Make it something special if you haven't listened to anything yet.
Was pretty special.
made a point of it being the unicorns 2014. I imagine the lofi indie equivalent to listening to prince's party like its 1999 on the millennium.
extra bleak because of me actual being 32 and the unicorns not making it anywhere close to 13, and how far in the future 2014 seemed when I first heard this song 10 years ago.
Monumental and moving.
feature a version of Skokiaan. I found a Bert Kaempfert version and heard it a few times before bed.
we were listening to this record anyway
Italo-krautrock no wave from 1977 produced by Vangelis & his brother in case anyone is interested - great stuff
It was the Keane version
Mama Do The Hump by Rizzle Kicks
i was drunk and had a good time during it, so fuck you for judging me
Happy New Year!
It was playing at a party.
Covered by some band in Bristol. I was drunk - it was great
Pass the Hatchet, I Think I'm Goodkind
Starship - We Built this City
It was that Erasure song, the one that goes "so baby pleeeeeeease, give a little respeeect!"
Hot (I Need to Be Loved, Loved, Loved)
Came up on the shuffle as I was stood on my balcony watching the fireworks over Bangkok. Nice start to 2014.
Was watching the London fireworks on the telly. First song that I actively heard, stuck out like a sore thumb amongst all the crap that normally accompanies the show. Felt good.
Or it was Auld Lang Syne as sung by my girlfriend's drunk family, if that counts.
it was Antitainment - Sechstagewoche-Gummimann
as Oui was the first album slung on the stereo on New Year's Day.
In a plane. The new BA planes have fucking great entertainment.
Was in pub and music was generally in the background, but 1st song I heard properly would have been The Velvet Underground 'What Goes On' when i put my i pod whilst walking merrily back home.
First song of 2014: Katy Perry - Walking on Air
The DJ was a big Katy Perry fan.
I was jamming with a band all night so probably something we made up.
First proper song I heard that day was 'Yes! I Am A Long Way From Home' by Mogwai. Went for a walk while the town was quiet and soaked in the gloom.
