This world, eh?
for my usage... it's not a real problem for me as i only really use spotify as a try-before-you-buy, so enforced shuffle isn't a biggie. competition for soundcloud, though. esp for unmixed mixes. although that's a minority of my soundcloud listening. but likely to lead to more subsequent purchases than soundcloud, probably, cos on spotify i'm able to easily check the track that's playing. whereas on soundcloud i have to bother my arse to find and examine a mix tracklisting (if there is one), which is something i can only remember doing once (tirzah - i'm not dancing, fwiw it's worth).
tl;dr: non-physical format music = not worth paying for. still. now more than ever.
Doesn't this completely devalue the idea of 'creating an album'. The flow of an album is such a nuanced skill, and with this model of allowing music to be listened to on the move (which most do) for free but on shuffle, completely obliterates this. Of course, the repost would be 'well buy the album' but i'm talking the majority who use spotify
i feel like the kind of person who listens to music exclusively through spotify free on their mobile phone isn't going to using it to appreciate the nuanced flow of 'radio cults of the space age' on their way to asda
and then play your playlists in whatever order you want?
and consisting of at least 3 different albums.
Version for tablets is better - don't have to shuffle.
I've sacked off Premium but I'm trying Deezer at half the price.
