Including his puppy. Poor guy.
That's grim. Poor fella.
poor fucking guy
Some money won't bring his dog or all his lost work back, and everything replaceable will be insured. It just seems a bit exploitative to ask fans for thousands of dollars as some sort of consolation (I do understand that Dev didn't set up the donations page himself, but still).

"This is disgusting. I'm so hurt. I want to go on the record and say i will never talk to the guardian ever again, i want nothing i ever make to be on their website, or in their magazine. Please pull the interview i did recently. I don't want it to come out."
Dev Hynes's puppy sob story has left me burnt out | Holly Baxter
Hate articles like that, when writers try really hard to have an angle on things that don't warrant them, just comes across as really self important of the writer
seems so grossly insensitive to compare the kickstarters of directors and musicians hoping to fund individual side projects to that of somebody reaching out to cover costs in the aftermath of an absolutely devastating fire. christ alive. the guy has even stated he wants to split the proceeds between three different charities. :\
Because that's all it was written for, clicks.
obviously I massively disagree with the fact there was a crowdfunding campaign to begin with, but it was just a badly judged attempt to help, and to write such a callous article about it is a step too far.
It's not a fucking "sob story"- he lost his dog, a living thing, which is one of the reasons that giving him money was so inappropriate to begin with.
Also, she says that his stuff wasn't insured- does Dev actually say this anywhere? He says he "lost everything" but haven't seen anything where he says it wasn't insured.
What a prat
