Pretty stoked to hear this news this morning.
No Scottish dates is a bit disappointing. Road trip!
why is there a big gap between dates?
I might go down to Southampton as well tbf. Their set lists recently have been incredible.
night at the Roundhouse as well last year. but the Guildhall isn't that great. (i say this from what other people have told me. i have only ever been there once to see Muse in April 2000 and they were incredible, so idk)
Maybe they'll just add another London date.
One of my fave venues of that size for sure.
not that big i didn't think but the gig there sucked. maybe it was just the gaslight anthem though.
very similar to Kentish Town Forum but with better sound.
the sound is awful a lot of the time. i hope it actually is better.
Just a strong rumour though, no hard evidence (don't shoot the messenger).
haven't they been having problems writing? although they are also doing some full album sets in the US, saying something about having new material
internet knowledge source, Wikipedia says up to 2600 compare with about 3000 at the roundhouse
I might go twice.
London and then could have a nice long weekend in Manchester.
excited about this show. Did both dates at the roundhouse last time, was pleased last time for a bit of trailer trash/modest mouse during the boy who blocked his own shot
I suppose they would have said thats what these shows are if they were though...
Devil & God plz
you all know this to be true, you're lying to yourself if you think otherwise ;)
but Deja is also incredible. You're lying to yourself if you think otherwise ;)
but it's not a patch on D&G, particularly as a live experience
DIE YOUNG AND SAVE YOURSELF
along with thousands of other people.
not the whole album ;)
on that album.
first one YFW and Deja second one TDAGARIM and Daisy, each one with a few b-sides of the time.
I imagine they might add a second night at the Troxy given the gap. I've seen a few shows there and I think it's a great venue, as long as you get down in the sunken bit in the front.
They've done two sets of shows in the US where they played all four albums straight through plus b-sides. Incredible. I very much doubt that'll happen here, but it does at least mean no song is off the table as far as setlists go...
I still maintain that their gig at O2 Academy there on the last tour was the best one I've ever been to.
happy birthday to me, nice little present to myself
Flying at Tree Level for me. Ooh or Fork and Knife.
they playted FATL at the second roundhouse show last time. was so gutted to miss it.
That one that went 'UNTIL I AWAKE, WE JUST HOPE THAT YOU MADE IT'
Never gonna happen though
That would be incredible.
But I am bricking it about getting tickets for this.
Please, please, please!!!
Relief! Now four months of excitement and anticipation.
sorry we seem to have sold out while you put your details in. twice
and i got distracted. now they've sold out preseale
but I genuinely didnt realise they were so popular
I Am The Avalanche were great on their last tour.
Going to Southampton. will try to get tickets for London too i think.
they're playing Glasgow (Barrowlands) with Saves The Day supporting.
Makes sense if Manny & Durijah are still in both bands but I'm not sure they are anymore?
Need to chill out on the caps lock in this thread.
are you getting confused with Glassjaw?
I haven't listened to any Saves The Day since Sound The Alarm. Should I?
i loved the Two Tongues album, but Saves the Day always made me switch off after a few songs. I guess I'll have to try again if i've got to see them.
I want to go Glasgow now.
Missed out on the pre-sale. Don't suppose any of you inexplicably got spares did you?
Going to try to get tickets for The Troxy too.
I'm so happy :)
please let me get tickets now
I'm hovering on the off chance they add the Sunday too.
see you in London
That was a piece of piss in the end!
Guess the pre-sale ate those tickets up.
I'll just have a nice, solid sit instead.
ffs, every time
if you send seetickets an email with your reference number they refund you
Ticketline and Stargreen still have them if you've missed out with gigsandtours
I'M SINKIN' LIKE A STONE IN THE SEEEEEEEEEAA
I'M BURNING LIKE BRIDGE FOR YOUR BAAAAAWWDEEEEE
GO GO GO! :D
I'm going to southampton but i grrr
cos i tried to listen to 'that' album recently and it was whiny rubbish
No it's not.
Do you like this kind of stuff anyway? If not well then you're not goinig to like it.
it was that devil and god one
i just remember them being big reading favourites in 2008 and in with the emo crowd. Then I heard they were a bit like Idlewild meets Bright Eyes or something. Oh I dunno, I might give em another go.
Your New Favourite Weapon is the punk pop/emo one.
Deja entendu - is a bit slicker, less punk pop, some rock some slow songs. I'd say it's a good one to start with and a lot of peoples favourites along with...
Devil and God - heavier more going on musically and a bit less ''song writery''. Another fan fav, I never found it that easy to get into but once you do you'll prob love it.
Daisy - their heavest most hardcore style record. Seems to split fan opinion.
Hopefully they'll do another date or someone will have a spare at the time.
On the plus side I fucking hate the Troxy so swings and roundabouts
they've got to add another London date. They played two shows at the Roundhouse last time.
Eh, might be on holiday then anyway. And they might add another date. And there'll be spares somewhere.
Oh god I want to see them.
but I REALLY hope they have some new material to play. Been way too long.
face value plus booking fee. PM me if you would like it.
Don't make me put it on Viagogo
And how would I collect it?
or can send it
Face value with booking fee is £30
I take it nothing's been announced about them being whole album sets or anything?
I think they said they were undecided when asked at the end of last year. I certainly hope they aren't full album sets. as much as I like Daisy, I don't think it's a great idea playing that over the second half of any set of their material.
But only because I've only got tickets to the first night and I'd have tried for both otherwise.
he tried for London too, but couldn't get tickets. I mean that's what happened to me and it would make sense.
the presumption then is that the Odd numbered shows would be YFW and DE, with the even numbered nights being TDAGARIM and D. I can't see it myself. well, I hope not.
on a similar topic. I saw Max Bemis tweet that Two Tongues had finished demoing album number 2 or something, last week. I find it easier to listen to Chris's whine when Max is there to tidy things up.
just bought a pair of brand new tickets off a mate. with arsenal vs wigan just before, saturday could be a whirlwind of emotions.
will have to Viagogo then :(
Found a pair by searching 'brand new troxy' on twitter. Face value and all.
rather than looking for one.
Going face value
If standing? DM me and can arrange - thanks!
Which album should I try out ahead of seeing them support BN on Saturday?
Although really you should just listen to At Your Funeral over and over again so you can at least sing along to that when they play it (they better fucking play).
FWIW, I absolutely love In Reverie and Sound The Alarm (the latter of which is their 'heaviest' and has Manny & Durijah from Glassjaw on it). Haven't listened to anything since so there's a pretty high chance I'll recognise only a tiny amount of their set.
Through Being Cool easily.
They won't play either, will they?
I will fight my way through the crowd to find you DK just so we can shout GET US AWAY FROM TONIGHT together.
I think I opted for e-tickets for securitys sake but although Ticketmaster have sent me a 'reminder your gig is coming up' I don't have anything resembling a ticket (in fact I should have 4). Do they send them on the day?
I worked it out.
Really wanted a PROPER ticket but can't take any risks with a BN gig.
I'd be pretty happy with that, but actually would prefer if the London show is the second night of an album specific gig run. I am probably in the minority, but there are some tracks on Daisy I'd love to hear live and assume this would be the only way.
Either way, we are mere hours from Brand New shows!
Excited now, what a setlist.
I have friends visiting this weekend/I have no idea what state I'll be in after Fulham pump us out of the league
you should both be popping along to OBL tonight!
Would be there otherwise, I believe you're playing with the drummer from Youthmovies' new band an' all. Enjoy!
where are you moving to dude?
Oh I didn't realise that, that's exciting!
luckily whilst he's not there. So basically directly opposite Liverpool St station ha.
Want to catch all of the Arsenal and all of The Front Bottoms tomorrow.
at Southampton they are:
The Front Bottoms 7:40 - 8:10
Saves the Day 8:30 - 9:00
Brand New 9:30 - 11:00
Anyone heard differently?
great band though.
Found Saves the Day to be quite boring at Troxy, but quite fun at the midnight show. (Saves the Day went off at 3am I believe?)
Brand New at The Roundhouse was just perfect, so maybe it's wrong to compare it to that but the sound was pretty off putting. I'm in Bristol on Saturday for Patten, but I want to find a last minute spare to see them again. Between Brontide, Brand New, The Front Bottoms, The Xcerts, Gnarwolves, Nai Harvest etc Hit the Deck Festival looks amazing value for £20.
Give me a wee PM if you're interested.
