…in POG form?
in my mind
How do you check the "Threads I'v posted on" in the Community area?
we're still working on that.
Or chrome? (there's a few versions of it that look odd)
We're working on fixing that!
Looks like iTunes' albums view, which may not be positive in everyone's eyes.
But didn't want to
1) cause potential issues with new site
2) rush getting it right.
but the forums look fucking awful. Sorry!
because it looks bloody lovely on my screen.
need a pair of specs
if you just changed it to bold.
Site looks nice.
other than that it doesn't look to bad, especially as site redesigns are usually really jarring for me.
are comments under reviews/interviews gone for good then? the vitriol that used to come in the comments when a big band got a bad review was funny to watch, but I guess it's probably something I won't miss in the long run.
is that the leading is too tight. Ascenders and descenders are hitting each other. Needs to be opened up a point or two.
Or maybe not...
Like with any website redesign, it's always a bit weird seeing everything looking different, but I'll get used to it!
I think the subject line for posts could do with a bold font and I don't really know what the Follow Thread button does, but apart from that I like the new design. Good work.
I really like how the album scores now say 's Score
Sean, things in angle brackets are disappearing.
Can I do this?
The answer is no.
Thisses are showing up inside hyperlink HTML without the drownedinsound.com bit.
as people were having too much fun.
the site looks very nice
this is cool
this is not right
macbook pro using safari OS X Lion 10.7.5
why would you design the mid column in two different widths; one for community/boards contents and a different narrow width left justified for individual boards & threads etc?
that space to the right >>>> is for advertising or will show something not yet implemented
And we decided not to have it on the menu page. There was an issue with the rest site so menu still has old formatting in terms of cell colouring.
i miss the old voice :(((
in a doomed attempt to distance the site from the review / swerve an editorial. The rest of the internet will ignore and attribute it to the website. Meanwhile, there's the bizarre double whammy of personalising the review and at the same time removing the right to reply / engage with the writer via the comments.
seriously put the review / article comments back if you don't want to be distancing yourself from your readers etc....
the reviews have always been the opinion of the writer.
DiS reviews, much like forum threads, are written by individuals. We may have commissioned someone to review something, but that doesn't mean we've sat down and decided what the score should be and told them to write something which reflects the views of "ESA"
you're publishing the reviews on YOUR website. It's really, really weird to completely distance yourself and the site from it.
as to emphasise, it's an individual's opinion... not a collective hatred/love.
It's terrible! Hard to read.
The only kind of fonts that look good on the net. Leave the serif fonts for books...
so i`ve gone over it in felt tip pen. Psyched it up a bit
the font is making my eyes hurt
I wrote a little CSS file. You need 2 things (both free):
2. the extension Stylish.
Open Firefox, go to Tools->Add-ons->Userscripts, click Write New Style, input a name (e.g. Drowned in Sound), and copy paste the text from this page http://pastebin.com/UwVyqWx6
What you get:
- white background, black text
- font Verdana or sans-serif if you don't have it
- disable the logo (gain more vertical space)
- disable the ticker.
You can modify as you wish.
- centered forum (not on the left as it is now)
- disable the footer
New code: http://pastebin.com/hRWUAUjM
2) the threads align left, so means if we manage to tweak something at a later date, that the replies can arc out to the right.
deep-blue's only ever had 4 PMs
Who's with me? I sense an opportunity to start a revolution, viva le bleu!
That was a test. Meant to have deleted it.
Would bang it
Other than a few bugs it seems alright. People have already said the problems ad nauseum so I'll leave you to it.
This code will make it disappear:
display: none !important;
Too many people misusing it and a few database drain issues associated with it.
#Howling Willie Cunt as required then...
Now that we've had 24hrs or so of trying to get the server to not keep crashing (it's still a bit wonky) please continue to leave any issues with you in this thread http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/social/4439309
