One thing I will say is it seems a bit mental to have 45 minute breaks between bands who are only playing for an hour. I guess it's to force everyone to watch the bands on the other stage (wherever that's actually going to be?!)
are they intending to have a stage in the bar area upstairs or something?
they'd have to put up some serious soundproofing
I'm tempted to see Mew but it seems like it's going to be a bit of a messy evening set/stage wise
Mew are incredible so imagine how incredible they will be live. Incredible!
I thought we'd be getting a full set :(
The Raveonettes have pulled out and Shout Out Louds are headlining instead. No refunds will be given according to a woman that I phoned up at The Roundhouse.
Such b- s
no one's fault as it's a health issue with the lead singer. I also do realize that it was touted as a festival all dayer but to swap headliners (to a shit band) two days before the concert and offer no refunds is taking the piss.
It's like they want to be the new ATP
rant of an email. I did tell them what I said above. That I understood that it was sold as a JaJaJa Day Festival and not necessarily a Raveonettes gig but nonetheless it's the headline act that is the draw and deal breaker on whether to buy a ticket. For me, seeing The Raveonettes was the only reason for my ticket purchase. I did tell them that I understood the terms and conditions and that they're legally within their rights not to provide refunds but that changing the headline act two days before the date doesn't necessarily make great business sense for future events.
I received an email back that had yesterday's generic cancellation message as an attachment and a further message saying that they look forward to my visit and hope I enjoy the event. I have no intention of going and will be going to the cinema instead. I'll be passing Chalk Farm Station tomorrow at around 5pm. If anyone wants to go to this shit let me know. I have one box office collection ticket that you can have for free.
from The Roundhouse themselves.
You hope common sense will prevail but I guess the promoters need every penny etc
Let lineofbestfit and ja ja know.
were really excellent. They played all the 'hits' and sounded fantastic - I didn't realise what a flawless voice Jonas has live. Really enjoyed it. Thanks badmanreturns for posting stage times!
Mew were exactly how I was hoping they would be, one of the best sets I've seen in a long long time. Could've easily watched another hour!
what were those lolly things though. bleugh.
I loved all the Frengers songs by Mew, but not so much the rest of them, as they all blended into one. Preferred their Shepherd's Bush Empire gig a few years ago.
Husky Rescue were good, and Mum were absolutely amazing. Loved them.
Liked their no nonsense approach to fitting as many of their songs into one hour as possible (I noticed a lot of the intros they usually do live were missing). Not one song from their last album though which was a bit unusual
unfortunately had no interest in the rest of the line up and didn't go. Was Day 2 any good?
