I'm abandoning the random aspect of this thread series. It's been the proverbial square peg through the round hole.
And am now picking "selectively" random records.
(You know that November is the start of nothingness and best-of compilations, eh? By December 1, you'll be thanking me for the opportunity to talk about a Tori Amos album. Who's actually kinda totally awesome, but I digress.)
Really difficult to make a lightweight, hard rock record. As if bad reviews weren't bad enough... but risking "White Snake tribute band" quips? That's sort of ballsy.
But no worries.
No doubt, Ash pulls it off here. 1977 is filled with songs that sound as if you've heard them a thousand times before...I say, in the best way possible...but haven't.
