Worth a pop.
always entertaining. was expecting Geri,
was worse. That's fucking great
Superb quote, didyousayhand. Catterick fan eh?
"Just about everything good although I can't claim to know anything about Jazz, Reggae or Rap"
Are you fucking thick?
a lot of rap and reggae music is complete shite.
If you asked a lot of people to name their favourite genres/pigeon-holes, those two would come near the bottom time after time
"a lot of rap and reggae music is complete shite"
...unlike rock / indie / electronica / classical / genre mix-up? / whatever...
- there's loads of shit jazz
Also, I'd point out that nothing in that statement suggests Jazz, Reggae or Rap are bad, in fact the implication is that there is good stuff in those genres but shinymcshine doesn't happen to know much about them.
You aggressive idiot.
Get some balls
which one of the band are you?
I've just had a quick listen to Body in the Thames (that's the correct way of writing it, by the way) and it was so boring / devoid of character, there's nothing interesting I can really say about it.
I think it's pretty obvious which one of the group I am.
Didn't get sexually excited. 0/10.
Though this thread will never be as funny now the tags are gone
It's always a fucking crazy roller coaster, isn't it?
it was years ago when I saw him in the crowd at an early gig of ours when we were called The Racists.
If you'd like to read more stuff then have a look at this http://milesperhower.wordpress.com/2013/11/11/fresh-gusting-miss-halliwell-miles-perhower/
all the best
But who knows? I think it's quite interesting - and I've got no problem with the silly geeks who take offence. It's amusing to me.
It's been a long time since there was a twat of this high calibre gracing the boards. Good on you sir
T-Shirts, flatminton, zeitgeist-surfing, analogue synthesizers, exciting new keyboard shortcuts, quaffing root beer
Talking Heads, mostly.
-If you think I'm a twat then I must be a massive one!
Worst JAG since Her Parents spam crashed the board.
What the fuck is the point of linking that Her Parents video here - it's terrible and nothing like Miss Halliwell. You can't get over the fact that I'm willing to come here and tell you about a new release that you may not get to hear about otherwise - but you will - very much so eventually. I have no fear of boardies - I come baring gifts (often unwanted ones)
Ponytail Quest http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vgz4WlGcqIw
I understand, you have to protect your little patch. I'll happily keep on coming back to fight though - it's fun. Good training.
Yeah, of course it's a load of fucking bollocks doing this - but it gets a reaction. I'm proud of what I create, most of the time - and it's fun to see how people react - often very predictably on here. What does that say about DiS mentality?
I forgive you all though. I'll still be making music when a lot of you have given up listening to it...
You should try writing some songs with some nice singing in, is this supposed to be one of these raps I've been hearing about? Maybe start with a nice bit of acoustic guitar and then stick in them maracas next time? As I'm sure you remember, I topped the amazon charts a while back with my blend of streetwise singer songwriting. (I'm Danny APple)
Also I watched your video 'Tony Quail Quest' and I reckon there is something gone wrong with the colours? I mean i'm tecchie but I think maybe you borked it!
All the best
You see, Danny, I'm used to dealing with your kind. Scum? Is that the right word? ahah, yes. ... shit - honestly I thought your whole thing was ironic - then had a look at the profile - IS THIS A JOKE? Fuck me, Danny! Can it be true!.. Some people do like this sort of strangeness.
I still can't tell if you are real? If that IS you and you are being serious then it's too easy for me. If not, then congrats on a great comedy character.
I like it.
actually comes across like reverend and the makers
certainly influenced by The Fall - but not trying to come across like that really - but fair enough. And come on, Reverend and the Makers? Really? I don't think so.
sorry, i can't hear it as i am at work so can't pass comment, but i can't trust your view on Body in the Thames' output which is generally excellent. CHEERS!
and Body in the Themes started it (the abuse that is)! Besides, I didn't really listen to it that much - sounded well produced etc
(I don't mind this, btw)
I am indeed Miles Perhower. I don't mind a scrap on here now and then. It keeps me on my toes. I like to engage with music people; good, bad and ugly. I am, after all, one of the ugly. Nice to meet you.
just the right amount of the enemy, just the right amount of the automatic
Bless you, Puds. I've always thought about The Automatic - in the sense of what I could've been. I can laugh at myself enough to see that, even though it's such a daft remark. As for The Enemy - you must be taking the piss. Keep on giving your 10 out of 10s to Prince and you'll do well in life!
I quite liked it - it sounded a bit like the guy from TNPs fronting early Elle Milano. I mean, not entirely like that, but something along those lines.
Despite this, you really need to fucking relax. I get it, you're proud of the music you've made, (I've been there), but when you post it online some people are going to dislike it, and they're going to say it out loud. Quit being such an arse about it, because it'll put folk off your music.
Not that you'll care what I think, obviously.
Thanks for the advice, I almost feel completely healed. You could even be directly responsible for making me a better person - especially with those comparisons! It's like listening to a mirror... But maybe it's time for some sweet-verbs of my own? I'm quite pleased that I've found an excuse to write a little more in-depth about this - a mini-philippic, if you like?
Any self-respecting geek with half a brain should have a good look at the blog link I put on here. You might gain a better understanding of the situation. The main issue I have with this message board is also the main reason why I post anything on it. I'm ambivalent about doing it, in all honesty, but this experimental practice seems to get results. You see, there are so many erroneous comments to deal with, it can be a blood-boiler, but I sometimes need that spark. I especially react to the lazy and abusive posts because they reek of "don't piss on my patch" mentality. I understand this, to a certain extent, but as you can see, I won't tolerate it... not at this level - which let's face it, is very DIY. The problem is, some people don't know how to react when they are being treated to something from an outsider, opposed to being SOLD something. They prefer to have things sold to them, which I find quite sad. Not that I'm against healthy discussion, but judging by some of the comments above, some users will react in such an insecure way because they haven't read about it in a magazine or via another more accepted, familiar channel.
I realise also that many users make music too, so there's an element of spiteful competition - which I understand. I disagree with you about my combative, occasionally vituperative nature putting listeners off though. If they are scared shitless or offended by the way I stand up for myself then they are probably too meek to really enjoy Miss Halliwell or anything else involving that mutant beast, Miles P.
As you can see, there are those who have simply enjoyed the stuff. There are even those who will read my counter-responses and actually check me out because of how I dealt with such flagrant DiSrespect. It happens! I know it's hard to believe, but it does.
And by the way, you may have "been there", but I am still THERE, and I'm used to dealing with this sort of petty nonsense - it's part of the game these days (if you have the balls and talent to wrestle with it head on...)
Do you wank in front of the mirror?
I think you've let yourself down there a bit there, maosm. Awful response - and not very bright.
OK - it seems all of DiS is making me dumb. It was fun while it lasted though...
but reading that has made me wish I didn't.
Cheer up! I'm only testing the water for Christ's sake!
He's right y'nnow.
I'm not sure I have the energy to keep up with 800+ replies, but you never know! We have a decent gig tomorrow in Birmingham, Hare and Hounds - anyone interested near by should come along and see why I'm willing to ride this bastard out.
