Anyone seen this band live, are they any good? Like the record but wondering how it would work in a live setting.
thought the quieter songs worked much better live actually, to my surprise.
when you buy from TicketMaster though, they'll grab your cash with both hands and make a stash.
rate White Lies innit. love the rest of the album though.
But it hasn't got a whole lot of depth. Not a fan of Jamie Lee either, read an interview with him and he just talked endlessly about himself/his lyrics/his future plans. Barely a mention of the music or indeed other musicians. He should go solo and they should get a more appreciative frontman.
have read interviews too, i was under the impression money was a solo thing..?
don't know him personally but whatever
The description of the audience reaction is pretentious garbage
Think they are really good live and like the album but I agree that review just awful.
saw them live before I heard the music and loved it
Singer seems a bit of a douche but he's bang on vocally, pretty good lyrically and the band are quite tight.
The record is bordering on magical for about six tracks, but the last four are utter, utter piss.
and I really like the album apart from that stupid fucking London track. Good stuff. Like the interview with him on DiS.
...but can see why it might be a bit bedwettery for some. Reminds me of 'Asleep' by the Smiths.
There's a really great hook (wut?) just before/during the third line of the chorus, on the second "...and every boy" bit. Can't stop listening to that.
