20th 21st December at King Tut's. Amazing
someone put me up plzzzzz
... tickets on sale friday
A london promoter will get in contact to get this done in London...
This will be incredible. Thanks for the heads up.
I am excited.
AND YOURRRRR RRRRED SKY AT NIGHT WON'T FOLLOW ME, WON'T FOLLOW ME NOW.
can we have a Twilight Sad lyrics in Caps thread?
I'm saying 'i'm taking the train home'.
those big, sad, woozy chord changes.
reckon this is my joint favourite album.
Bonus points for taking the song title from Stand By Me
AND SHES TAKEN FAR TOO YOUNG
no affection at all beyond that.
with the first three songs on this album. Unfortunate.
those first three songs are wondrous. the last album ended up ripping off portishead. how they fall huh
you're close to being right
given that that this album's last three tracks are my favourite, but hey ho.
Love this album, love No One Can Ever Know almost as much. Forget the Night Ahead is merely very good. Three albums in and their discography is superb so far. Moan the Sad!
Also, seems like a good place to bump this special interview I did with James last year all about the record;
BECAUSE YOURRRRRRRR SO FARRRRRR FRRRRRRROM HOME, AND YERRRRR WAAAAAAILING!!
Nothing good EVER happens in London. It's SO UNFAIR.
Cannot fucking wait for this show.
pretty upset I've missed out on this :(
his face is just like AHHH THIS IS GREAT BEING IN A BAND AHHH YEAHHHHHHH
any manchester people go to that gig in the ruby lounge or the tiger lounge or some lounge anyway when after the big build up in cold days from the birdhouse a girl at the back shrieked "YOUR RED SKY AT NIGHT WONT FOLLOW ME!" in the harshest, most un-melodic welch ever known. still cracks me up remembering.
One of my favourite gig moments of all time. James Graham taking about a minute to regain his composure.
Someone manage to capture it in all its glory here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXaCIJiNP3s , 1 minute 40 in.
If this is anywhere near as loud as last years Barrowland gig then it's going to be brutal.
Got my tickets for the Saturday night. Would have went to both nights but the missus has a Christmas party on the Friday night and i'll probably need to be on driver duty.
However we're going to see them next Monday night at Paisley Abbey (the orchestra show) and then at the Liquid Room the week before the Tuts gigs.
This is going to be amazing!!
I think I've underestimated how popular they've gotten. Oh well, can always go to to their Liquid Rooms show, pretty decent consolation I think
Anyone got two tickets for the Friday night that they wouldn't mind swapping for the Saturday night?
I have fri night tickets but not really fussed what night i go. Let me check with my wee bro to see if it's a bother for him and i'll get back to you.
already really expensive and I'm spending xmas in Newcastle and NYE in London so rather a lot on!
but that's quite a bit of travelling about.
what night are they for and how much?
and I think I have someone already but if not i'll let you know
so Lo, we will meet. i;ll PM you.
will have to do leeds
and its over month-end which makes it tricky
I don't think it's a Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters show but hopefully it's more than just the three of them
Also, damn them making me get up early on a Saturday morning next year: http://thelineofbestfit.com/news/latest-news/the-twilight-sad-reissue-debut-album-to-play-fourteen-autumns-fifteen-winters-in-full-live-142667
Liquid Rooms on the 14th. Conquering Animal Sound and Honeyblood is it?
yeah that's it. Def go see CAS so happy for them they got that slot
and the rest of On Floating Bodies didn't really live up to Ultimate Head Death Of The Universe for me. Good on them getting that slot though.
This has reminded me to give Carbs a listen!
the new stuff works really well live
This excites me much more for it, will hopefully make it through for CAS!
and also about their new record and also about other stuff.
Man, I love this band.
to buy tickets for manchester tomorrow mornin'
Went to the Saturday show, they were outstanding.
Don't know if it's because it's so fresh in the memory but I think this might be one of my favourite gigs of all time.
Don't think i have ever been to a more packed gig.
Met sheeldz and his good lady! :)
The hairs on my neck were up on the opening words of Cold Days from the Birdhouse with everyone singing. Reminded me of the first time I heard them love in Dundee.
the guitars were basically non-existent
Sound on Saturday was absolutely perfect from where I was standing.
annoyingly, cuz they probably sorted it out for Saturday.
but you got past it cuz the crowd were (mostly) good?
Darken Memory was still massive but
Sound was poor.
still enjoyed it, but it wasn't quite as amazing as I'd hoped due to the sound, not their fault sadly.
Still get goosebumps thinking back to it. The whole crowd sang every word right back. Getting to hear some of those songs live for the first time was a massive bonus. Talking with Fireworks was monstrous.
Last Years Rain...and Three Seconds of Dead Air!!
really happy they're doing watching that chair painted yellow at the end, hoped they would
A bit quieter than I was hoping maybe, but very clear and well mixed. And they played Three Seconds Of Dead Air!
