Kolsch - All That Matters
Weezer - Falling for You
Seriously! Best song about dealing with your husband's infertility ever.
Yer Blues by yer Beatles probably fits the category better though
is the thing isn't it?
Epiphany: First day of my life - Bright Eyes
Existential crisis: The Figurehead - The Cure
Whatever - ?????
10:15 Saturday night.
Killing an Arab
Just Like Heaven
The Mercy Seat
etc etc etc
Love will tear us apart
Your silent face
Touch and go
'Happiness' as an epiphany
loads and loads of the haunty stuff is existential crisis (i.e. virtually all of Victorialand and much of head over heels)
Treasure has both existential crisis AND Epiphany in the same songs
Something like Bluebell knoll sounds more epiphinaic
I say sounds cos obviously they are not dealing in words, but the sounds are just SOOOOO Existential/Epiphianical
PS one of the songs they didnt like the production on (done by one of the associates, is the one that i think is most existential - 'Peppermint Pig'. 'Hitherto' runs it close though.
(more of an intro to `Meadowlands` that a standalone song in a sense)
"Think I'll pack it in and buy a pickup"
Has lots of different songs for lots of different existential crises/epiphanies/whatever
I'm gonna smash them up good*
*congratulate them on some fine humour
I didn't think stuff from the social board leaked onto the music board.
THERE NEEDS TO BE RULES ABOUT THESE THINGS
Seems all about mortality and ageing and looking back, I reckon. Sounds good, too.
Especially 3rd Planet, Cowboy Dan and Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset.
Actually, the best of all of theirs for this is Space Travel is Boring, massively underrated song and all about loneliness/losing your sense of self etc
Pink Floyd - Time
"I don't speak that language any more/ my body's not that colour any more..."
