just got a ticket for Rother - been eagerly awaiting another London show.
Soundheads seems to be the name of Loop's fanclub so I'd be almost certain its them.
Surely he won't just be kicking around in the UK waiting for Weekend 2?
Which will be the first band that pulls out?
Netil House is a pretty good venue. I've only been there for that Visions Festival. Nice place.
Going to Shellac & probably Comets on Fire. Is the Soundheads definitely Loop? I know it#'s the name of the Loop fan club/website, but I'm just not sure!!
they were first around, they gigged under that name.
Pretty obvious it's them. They're playing 2 sets with no support. Tickets ordered. Very excited. Saw them a couple of times way back yonder, Kilburn National, Reading Fest and an instore gig at the Reading Our Price shop which got a bit out of hand and shut down by the fuzz.
Left before the police arrived though. Bought tickets at the weekend, didn't realise they were playing 2 sets, excellent news.
was a bit bonkers. They played from behind the counter. It was baking hot and sweaty and jam packed. They played a couple of songs (I think) and then the police came in and stopped it.....and then the record sleeves from the racks started flying around, aimed at the police. I managed to find the sleeve for the Arc-Lite 12", got it signed by the band and went on my merry way.
Two sets should be cool. Wonder if that's so they can play some new stuff too, or some of Robs other bands music, or just a shit load of Loop songs? The whole set up sounds great, max of 600 people, food and films. It'll be a 'happening' baby.
That was my first ever gig at the Hastings Crypt (support from the excellent Rosa Mota), it was loud as hell and a prog rock/shoegaze mess of excellence. The bassist looked loads like Derek Smalls though :D
sounds pretty good first ever gig from that short description.
Got my tickets for Michael Rother! Very excited!
I didn't think I was going to get the opportunity to see Haxan Cloak this year after missing out on Fuck Buttons tickets.
which is how I'm planning to get there.
it's just the other side of london fields
the less chance there is of me getting lost and aimlessly wandering around east London.
or a 5 minute walk from London Fields or Cambridge Heath Stations.
There are also lots of buses that run up and down that road from Bethnal Green tube station too.
the night before heading to weekend two. perfection.
Of course the Icarus Line are playing slap bang in the middle of my holiday. Of course.
haven't had a chance to see them before. should be good.
definitely doing Shellace and Michael Rother now. Would be nice if Slint were one of the tbc acts...
Great shout, I really hope so.
on the 25th now added: http://www.atpfestival.com/events/wolfeyespornnetilhouse.php
also one shellac show is sold out, the other only has 75 tickets left: http://www.atpfestival.com/events/shellacnetilhouse.php
That sounds pretty unmissable but I almost certainly can't go.
