not the best song i've heard this week, far from the worst. got a feeling some attention-starved bedwetters will have BIG OPINIONS below, like.
i'm a fan of his quieter moments, all about;
you massive, Indie bellend!
GET OVER HERE *RUBS KNUCKLES IN HAIR*
also reminds me of a Swedish band called Mando Diao
then it would have been laughed off, but lesser known bands like "Mando Diao" and suddenly indie point powered wrath
people on here seldom come across well when discussing him.
fair play to him i say. not really my cup of tea, but he's a young lad, comes across well, writes his own songs, etc.
he comes across as a cock.
i would have been a total cock if i'd found myself in his situation when i was 17/18. i mean, i was enough of a cock anyway due to being 17, but even worse.
not really defending his music, it's equal parts irritating and forgettable which is a bad combination, but i think in the future he'll look back on some of the stuff he's said (and all of the stuff he's sung) and cringe.
comes across well = no
writes his own songs = no
1/3 ain't bad though
he played many of them live before he got his deal. the label brought in a guy to touch some of them up, like, as is standard practice, tbh.
he'd written an albums worth of songs but the label wanted more laddy rock songs and less ballads. only 4 or 5 tracks were being played before the deal, although he was working with a songwriter before the deal was finalised anyway.
he's a total fraud which makes the whole swipe at one direction thing even worse
that new song is absolutely dreadful, worse than any one direction song
for defending Jake Bugg. Time to give the music board a little break.
pretty sure that arctic monkeys guy has worn that exact outfit as well. probably wore a better leather jacket though.
To cash in on the success of his first. It's unsurprising the label's done that.
My comment did look a bit silly but I didn't mean it like that.
I don't get all the bile directed towards him to be honest. Everyone's an utter dick when they're 16, so why should we expect anything different from Jake Bugg?
I mean, if he was a couple of years older with that attitude, then yeah, there's grounds to dismiss him, but all 15 year old indie kids think that the music they like to is 'real' and 'genuine' and that pop is rubbish.
Rick Rubin produced this?
he isn't made of stone
I'm just wondering whether that's a Beastie Boy's Brando wild one leather jacket rather than an Alex Turner cast off
Not bothered by it but at least it's not some folk bullshit.
Same career trajectory as The Fratellis beckons
i was sure they'd actually split up, but they have a new album out in two weeks. how exciting!
here's the cover http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c6/The_Fratellis_We_Need_Medicine.png
But one he's been made to record.
Well he has been touring for a year solid, not sure when he'd have time to write a full album himself
most recently at that splendour festival thing, and he always seems dour and like, the opposite of this song. He covered Neil Young ffs
Not bad a the ol rock stick, either
Funny how Sweeney struggles to follow her, probably the most of any of the interviews. This one also seems to be the most weed-free - coincidence? Could be that he was kind of flustered since annie is a beautiful human in a way that, say, Dean Ween isnt.
that riff she plays at 8 minutes is awesome
Look up 'Shangri La'
Scroll through the 'modern usage' section (or click here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shangri-La#Modern_usage)
Marvel at what kind of unimaginative chode would name their second album 'Shangri la'
Did they sue Oasis in the end?
He's wrong though
this song is really horrible
