I've only listened to it twice so to reach any conclusions about it yet is obviously premature.
I'll say this, it's not as immediate as I was expecting it to be given the real hits they've knocked out so far, but I don't mean that in a bad way. On first listen, there was a lot on there that didn't jump out at me but even just after a second listen it's starting to come alive.
My favourites from the new stuff so far would be:
'We Sink' (Not as brilliant as 'Liars' and 'Gun' but not far off)
'Tether' (Good build up with guitars taking some prominence, to a dance-floor explosion at the end).
'Under The Tide' (Male vocals on this one and I think it works)
'Science/ Visions' (Liking this one more and more)
'You Caught The Light' (Big strong emotive track to finish with).
I'm not disappointed with it, which is a relief, because frankly, I was quite disappointed with Factory Floor (though it seems I'm going to be in a minority there). Refreshingly (and surprisingly) this may be a bit of a 'grower' rather than a straight up pop 'shower'.
May well buy this. Haven't bough a CD since Savages released their debut so it's about bloody time, I guess.
